October 19, 20XX, 00:35 AM, Europe Street
United Nations

He sighed as he walked up to the house that seemed to be slightly separated from the other houses that were next to each other.

The house was a navy blue color, it was a nice color to look at, which distinguishes itself from the other houses with none of them being blue, and if they were it would be a lighter shade.

He knocks on the door gently, hoping the owner of the house was awake, even at this time.

Luckily the door opened up halfway to reveal a tired nation, who didn't have the signature top hat they usually wore nor the suit, but in a white shirt and dark blue trousers.

They yawned as they tried to focus on who was at their door.

"Who- AH! UN! What are you doing here?? Especially this late at night!" They exclaimed, shocked that he was even here.

"I'm sorry, Mr. London. But I have something important to tell you." UN said, he didn't seem tired especially this late at night, ever knew he was half owl?

"Alright, but make it quick." Britain sighed tiredly as he let the organization into his home and led him to the kitchen table.

One warm light was enough for both of them to see each other and some parts of the clean kitchen and room.

"So, what did you want to tell me?" Britain asked once they both sat down across from each other.

UN looked a bit nervous at first but then disappeared as soon as it was shown.

He then took a small slip of paper out of his pocket and then slid it towards the other.

"This is new, you usually tell people then be this silent. Are you alright, UN?"

Britain seemed genuinely worried for the other, who just didn't want to maintain eye contact.

"Just read it."

"Wha-."

"Mr. London."

Britain hesitated before picking up the piece of paper and began reading it carefully throughout.

There wasn't much to read but merely like a contract since there was a signature needed at the bottom to accept everything that was said in the paper.

UN watches as Britain places the paper down and intertwines his hands together on the table, his expression unreadable for he had his head down.

UN knew that this was not a good sign since he has seen him do it before once, and he'd prefer to keep it once.

But he had to ask anyway.

"So, do you-."

"No." Britain rudely interrupted.

UN felt himself slightly taken back before sighing.

"Mr. Lon-."

"UN, you really are a good friend of mine but, I'm not doing it."

"But-."

"I'm. Not. Doing. It. And that's final."

Britain glared slightly as UN tried to think of ways to convince him.

"Mr. London, we have no choice."

"No, that's what you think. I don't want you to end up like him! I don't want you to cause such a thing that can't be taken back!"

"But won't I end up like him if I keep waiting, Britain..?!" UN said, trying to keep his tone low while Britain wasn't having any of it but they both kept their composure to not wake up any of his neighbours.

"You won't, UN. Trust. Me."

"Then tell me, why. What happens if I do wait it out?"

"You'll be fine, I know. I don't need to tell you why."

"Then why should I trust you?"

"Have I ever lied to you?"

UN went silent as he thought about it for a moment as Britain flipped the paper over to its blank side, not wanting to even see what it said anymore.

"... Just tell me, Mr. London. It isn't that hard."

"Nor is waiting out those cracks to finish."

UN sighed as Britain just looked down, before looking back up.

"You should trust me, because I've witnessed it and it has happened to me before a few years ago."

"'Few years ago'?"

"Just... Don't pay attention to it, it isn't going to hurt." But he mumbled something else that UN didn't hear.

"What?"

"Nothing!" Britain quickly said before sighing heavily and laying back in his chair.

"Just don't do what you're going to do, you don't want to pile up on bodies do you?" Britain continued, the tiredness very visible at this point in his eyes.

"... I'm sorry, Mr. London. But there's no turning back now."

"UN, it isn't too late to change-."

"I've already got everything set up, it's too late."

"UN-."

UN stood up from his seat, pushing it in as he began walking away to the front door, to which Britain followed as well quickly.

"UN!"

"That's all."

"Come on, UN! You can't!"

UN looked away from his friend, sad but he kept his calm demeanor, whilst Britain was worried.

Britain gripped onto UN's arm, stopping them when they were both halfway through the front door.

As they both glanced at each other, Britain tried to look for some sign, some look, that would tell him he wouldn't do it.

But he couldn't.

His grip slowly loosened on UN's arm but still didn't pull away as he realized it.

"... You're not gonna stop at nothing, are you..?"

"... If you wish to help me then hand me the paper before the party tomorrow, signed."

Britain felt himself tighten his grip on the contract he held in his other hand as he shoves UN out of the doorway, nearly causing him to lose his balance.

"FINE THEN! GO HOST YOUR 'EVENT', DON'T COME BACK TO ME CRYING ONCE EVERYONE'S DEAD! CAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE DID!"

"Britain-."

"NO! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! I WON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE, I don't want to see it again..." Britain's voice went drastically low on the last part, at first he didn't care, but is that really what he feels right now?

UN stayed silent as Britain gave one glance, which told him everything he had felt at that moment before the door shut closed.

He sighs as he quietly walks down from the white porch onto the dry cement as the moonlight shone down on him, making his pure white wings glow as he walks away back to his own house.

His footsteps were quiet as well as his small movements as he glanced up at the dark blue sky, speckled with small stars and a some gray clouds here and there, moving so slowly that you could mistaken it for being still at one glance.

It was such a beautiful night in the fall season, yet what happened didn't help, nor did the fact he could feel nearly half of his left side slowly become numb and cold.

His whole left arm was already numb but luckily he had enough strength to make it seem like it wasn't.

As he walked, he thought...

Is Britain right?
