Chapter 3: Home

"Suga heads up!" Yells Daichi as he tosses Suga a bag of food that smells amazing. All I've had today is almonds, maybe I should have some more food, I did work out a lot today. Yes okay I think I deserve to eat something and I'll just tell mom I don't want a lot for dinner.

"What smells so good?!" Yells Nishinoya as he races up to where we are.

"I bought us all some meat buns to celebrate Y/n who's going to officially stand by all of our practices to help out." Daichi says with a smile.

"I'm sorry what?" I say baffled because I never agreed to this what when did this discussion happen when did I say I'd do that? I mean I don't mind but damn you could've at least asked.

"You'll love it y/n." Daichi says patting my back with a giant smile on his face.

"Daichi I will kick your ass to hell and back you just watch me."

"Oh please you're on roller blades and still shorter then me. Plus you could always use the practice." He says as he hands me a piping hot meat bun.

"I can still beat you're ass." I grumble as I take a giant bite of the hot meat bun. Shiiit that's hot fuuuck. I wave my hand around in a panic as I chew the burning hot meat bun.

"I'm glad we'll get to see more of you y/n." Suga says with a soft smile.

"Uhh umm yeah can't wait." I say with a bright blush and awkward smile. Alright you baffoon get it together right now. Just chill you've only known him for a couple of hours now is not the time to get flustered. I clear my throat and take another bite of my meat bun.

We all start to walk home together people slowly splitting off as we keep walking. Until it's just me Daichi and Suga.

"Bye Daichi, bye y/n see you tomorrow!" Suga yells out with a big smile on his face as he turns the corner to go towards his home.

"Bye!" Daichi and I yell back. As soon as Suga is out of sight Daichi says,

"So what'd you think of the team?"

"It could use a lot more work but you definitely have something special."

" Yeah we sure do." As Daichi and I approach our home I stop and start taking off my roller blades.

"Oh yeah y/n you better not get any thoughts about anyone on the team." Daichi says as he walks past me.

"What do you mean?" I yell out as I hurriedly try and slip on some shoes I had in my gym bag.

"You heard me and I mean it." Daichi says while unlocking the door.

"Wha- how dare you think such thoughts it's not like I'd like any of them like that anyways." I say with my arms crossed. Ugh he can't tell me what to do. Plus it's not like I'd fall for any of them. Daichi sure is overly protective and paranoid.

"As long as you don't fall for any of them."

Daichi and I enter the house we share with mom.

"Hey mom we're home." Daichi calls out.

"Hey how was school today you two?" Mom asks from the kitchen.

"It was great mom what're you cooking?"

"Oh just making some rice balls for you to take to school tomorrow. How was your day y/n." My mom says in her cheery soft voice.

"It was okay, I'm going to go shower." I say while looking at the ground and quickly walking to the washroom. Living with mom is still so weird. I mean until now I've only seen her on holidays. I wish I was back in Tokyo at least then dad didn't care and I could probably ride my motorcycle and go out somewhere. Now I've got Daichi and mom who want me to say in this damn house. I love mom but this is too different too fast. I wonder when I'll be able to go back to Tokyo, just to visit at least. I let the hot water wash away all the sweat and stress from the day. I can't help but hope I do okay in this place. At least there's more places to run here, in Tokyo it's all city here there's actual free spaces and land with fresh air.

I get out of the shower and dry off. Time for homework. I sit and do work for about 40 minutes until I lean back and groan ughhhh I'm so done with this already. I speed through math not caring about showing all the work or if I get it right or not. Okay that's it I'm done. It's late maybe I can go for a walk before bed. I quietly sneak towards the front of the house and grab a pair of shoes. I quickly slip out and toss my shoes on. Ah the fresh is sure is nice. The city is usually awake at night but all the homes here have lights out and all but a few stores are closed for the night. It sure is weird here.

After walking for about an hour I get back home. I make sure to quietly open and shut the door and slip my shoes off. But of course it's just my luck that mom's there waiting for me when I get back in.

"Where have you been?" She asks with a cold look on her face.

"Oh uh I just went for a walk so that I could fall asleep." I say sheepishly.

"Y/n I won't put up with any deliquente behavior from you, I don't know what your father let you get away with but I won't stand for it in my house." She says as she gives me a cold look and starts to walk back to her room.

"I went for a walk, that's it I didn't do anything wrong." I say offended at what she was saying to me.

"Then take Daichi with you I don't trust you yet to be on your own here, this isn't Tokyo where you can ride around your motorcycle at 3 am and come back at the crack of dawn."

So I guess dad doesn't care if I do it but he will tell mom that I've done it? Ugh I knew mom thought I was trouble with all her "city folk" talk about how we don't have nearly as much respect towards people as we should.

"It was a walk I don't need Daichi to babysit me. I haven't even been on my motorcycle since I got here. Why can't you trust me?" I say rasing my voice slightly.

"Trust is earned and based on what your father tells me about how you act I'm not quite ready to give it to you yet." And with that she walks off.

I internally scream.

Ahhh wtf ughh it's a walk it's a simple walk. Daichi's already asleep because he's basically an old man ughh. This is completely unfair. I try turning over a new leaf and this is how it is. If I really wanted to I could've gone on my motorcycle and slipped into a bar. Ugh. Whatever guess I'll just go to bed.
