Testing our Love

Part 3

"Okay, Penelope knows the incantation so just do as she days and say what she tells you to." Caroline said before giving both the girls a kiss on the forehead. By now Hope was here too sat next to Alaric and Landon on the floor a few feet away. Caroline joined them as Penelope stood next to the girls.

"Okay, join hands and repeat after me." She said as both of them did as she said "Sanguinem desimilus" Penelope started when both of them repeated

"Sanguinem desimilus"

"Sanguinem generis fiantus!" Penelope continued as they continued to repeat.

"Sanguinem desimilus! Sanguinem generis fiantus!"

"Sanguinem desimilus! Sanguinem generis fiantus!"

"Sanguinem desimilus! Sanguinem generis fiantus!" They continued until finally Penelope stopped letting them continue on their own as she backed away.

Both girls stopped at the same time as they both fell to the ground. Now it was time to wait.

"Okay, if Landon dies now, then it worked and Josie will be fine. But of he didn't then it either means Josie won and Lizzie is now dead or the spell didn't work and Josie is now dead." Penelope said crouching down next to Josie as everyone else waited around Lizzie and Landon to see what happened.

"Guys." Hope said making us all turn to face the direction she was looking at where Landon had just fallen to his knees in pain.

"I thin it's worki-" he started before fell down to the ground and burst into flames.

Once Landon had burned out Lizzie sat up taking a deep breath in.

"Oh my God. Josie." She said crawling over to Josie and grabbing her hand.

"This usually takes a while so let's take her inside." Penelope said grabbing under Josie's head and legs carrying her bridal style.

They were almost at Josie's dorm room with Landon being carried by Alaric and Hope (Caroline had to leave for unknown reasons)to his dorm while Lizzie went with Penelope to "Make sure Penelope didn't drop her on purpose" when Landon's eyes shot open and he gasped for air unknown to Lizzie and Penelope who kept on their way to there dorm and finally made it.

A few seconds later just before Penelope could place her in her bed Josie did the same but she couldn't exactly sit up because she was being carried like a baby by her mortal enemy.

"Hi there."Penelope said when Josie looked up at her with a puzzled expression.

"What's going on?" She asked as Penelope carefully placed Josie on the floor since she was able to walk herself.

"The spell worked. You're both fine." Penelope answered simply before continuing. "Although you should definitely get some rest. You did just die and from how much Landon complains it must be horrible." She added keeping to her regular snarky comments.

"Why was she carrying me?" Josie asked Lizzie when Lizzie shrugged.

"We were all watching Landon burn when she picked you up and told us to come inside. She couldn't exactly hand you off and she looked strong enough not to drop you up the stairs so I thought it was fine." Lizzie said when Josie turned to Penelope. Lizzie got the hint and left.

"Why?" She asked out of the blue as Penelope furrowed her brows so she elaborated. "Why help us. You've hated me and Lizzie since you first came here?" Josie asked when Penelope sighed and looked down.

"Look Jo, I've known you and miss high maintenance down there for about 5 years now and just because I hate you doesn't mean I want you to die. I know that it doesn't seem like it....ever...but I care about all of you including tribrid and bird boy. It doesn't mean that I don't find you all highly annoying though." She added to lighten the emotional mood that was threading to arise.

"Well, just know that we care about you too. Even if we find your bitchy banter highly unnecessary and annoying." Josie added with a smile which made Penelope smile too. Their "moment" was interrupted though by giggles making them both turn to Hope and Lizzie walking into the room.

Josie watched as Penelope gave her a quick smile and left the room.

In the real world

It had been a day and Lizzie was getting tired so she finally came back into her bedroom where Hope was unconscious but when she looked at the frames she noticed something. Josie's had a very transparent outline on it, that was good. It meant Josie was starting to fall in Love but Penelope still had nothing. 

"Come on guys!" Lizzie yelled throwing the nearest thing she could reach across the room. Lizzie had got her breakdowns and mental health issues down years ago but something about this situation was just bringing it all back. She was about to get in bed when there was a knock on the door. 

"Ugh." She groaned turning the light back on and making her way to the door.

"Daddy?" Lizzie said when she saw her dad stood there, she opened the door for him to come in and was about to sit on the sofa when he saw Hope draped across it.

"What happened. I was at Home when I saw all the pictures of Josie,Penelope and Greyson literally disappeared there's only blank picture frames?" He asked still looking at Hope when Lizzie sighed and lifted Hope's feet so she could sit down.

"Kai Parker happened. There's something wrong with Hope and the only way to wake her up is the cure which Kai gave to Penelope so the cure is now her blood. The problem is that he sent Penelope and Josie to 8 years ago but they hate each other and the only way to get them back is if they fall in love again." Lizzie explained tiredly.

"Stupid right?" She asked looking up at her dads shocked expression before standing back up and putting Hope's feet back. 

"I'm gonna go to bed. Stay as long as you like. There's clothes in the spare room." She said plodding to her bedroom as Alaric stood in shock.

Lizzie was asleep when her phone rang, Alaric picked it up and saw it was the girls Mom so he answered.

"Lizzie, what's going on?" She asked when Alaric sighed.

"Hey Caroline. It's Ric. Apparently Hope's ill and the cure , which is Penelope's blood, has been sent to an alternate universe by Kai Parker to fall in love with Josie again and they can only come back once they do fall in love. Complicated I know." He said when Caroline went silent. 

"We have to fix this Ric. We can't leave it up to fate." She said finally when he let out another long sigh.

"I know."
