Testing our Love

Part 5

"Hey Penelope wait up." Hope yelled when Penelope looked at her Puzzled.

"Dr. Saltzman wants to see you." She said before walking away. Penelope tried to think what she did wrong which was nothing but something must have happened.

"Hi Sir. Hope said you wanted to see me." She said walking in when she noticed Josie sat on the edge of his desk smiling proudly.

"I have something for you." He said handing her a piece of paper, it was a screenshot of an email that had been sent to all the collages Penelope applied to. Penelope stood and read it before looking up to Josie with furrowed brows.

To whom it may concern

It is with much enthusiasm that I recommend Penelope Rose Park for your school. I have been Penelope's headmaster for 5 years now and she has retained a 3.5 through 4.0 GPA along with many other achievements.

Penelope has displayed a high level of intelligence, creativity and is very passionate about what she believes in. Even though she's had her slips ,which weren't necessarily her fault, she has always come through with amazing results and persevered through all hardships.

I believe she would be an amazing asset to leaning and any school would be lucky to have her in it. She will surely go far in the academic world and I trust she will do the Salvatore school proud.

"Oh My God. Thank you Sir." Penelope said smiling at him and then to Josie who gave a sincere smile back. Josie and Penelope left the office together and as soon as they got out Penelope looked at her.

"This was you wasn't it ?" She asked when Josie's smile widened indicating a yes.

"Thank you Josie, honestly you have no idea how much I needed this." Penelope aid before wrapping her arms around Josie in an unexpected hug which threw Josie off guard but she finally leaned into it before Penelope pulled away and smiled at her and then walked away.

Josie stood and wondered how this person who he hated for 5 years was starting to get to her and make her car about her

"What's up with you?" A voice said from behind Josie making her spin around towards Lizzie who was stood smiling at her.

"N-Nothing. Come on." she said walking away as Lizzie followed her.

"Hope can I talk to you?" Josie said walking into Hope's dorm room and shutting the door behind her.

"Let me guess, you've suddenly realised you have a crush on........drum roll please.....Penelope freakin' Park." Hope said sitting up as Josie stopped.

"Wha-....um.....How did you?" Josie started when Hope rolled her eyes and moved over so Josie could sit next to her on her bed.

"Come on Jo. We've been friends forever I know when you like someone. And whenever Penelope's around you get flushed or look down or play with your hair even if you don't do it consciously." Hope said making it sound like it was obvious which Josie hoped it wasn't.

"If you Like Penelope...then tell Penelope." Hope said as Josie shook her head vigorously. Hope just sighed and grabbed her arm dragging her out of the room. They got to the hallway when they spotted Penelope but she wasn't alone.

She had her back against the wall making out with some random vamp. Josie stood and watched for a few seconds before she turned and left but as she was walking away Penelope noticed her and stopped.

"What's going on with her?" Penelope asked Hope walking over as Hope sighed and looked at her knowingly.

"Seriously?" Hope asked when it hit her and she bit back a smile.

"Wait....She......Because I was-.........oh." Penelope stuttered as she finally let a smile out.

"Ugh. Girls are so annoying." Hope rolled her eyes before walking in the direction Josie went.

"Anyone coming on the trip make their way to one if the three busses out front!" Alaric said through the speaker. Almost the whole school was going except for Penelope who was kicked off the list for "Bad Behaviour", Josie who just wasn't interested in going and a few others. 

"You not going?"Penelope asked Josie as she stood an watched her sister and Hope get on one of the busses. 

"No. What about you?" Josie asked turning to face her keeping her arms crossed and body facing forward.

"I got banned from going. What's your excuse?" Penelope asked when Josie rolled her eyes looking back to the busses which were now leaving.

"I didn't want to go." She finally answered before turning and leaving. Classes were on a hold since about 90 percent of the staff were away on the trip. Josie had no idea where it was too but she did know that she was gonna be practically alone in school for the next 5 days with 1 teacher managing the 13 of them that stayed behind. 

The little kids went on one but to one place and the bigger kids went the other way to somewhere else.

Josie sat in her room studying when the door opened and Penelope burst in holding Pedro's hand and locking the door behind her. 

"What's goin o-" Josie started when Penelope put a hand over her mouth and shushed her. 

"Everyone managed to get out but you and Pedro were still inside so I came back." Penelope whispered when Josie looked down at Pedro, the only 7 year old who stayed behind and he looked like he had seen a ghost (figuratively since that honestly wouldn't be a stretch.)

"Penelope tell me what the hell is happening." She said when there was a bang on the door and Penelope moved away helping Pedro get under the bed before telling him to stay put and pulling Josie into the closet. 

"Penelope." She whispered when Penelope pursed her lips and sighed.

"Everyone but you and Pedro was in the main hall when a magic barrier was out up and some man carrying a crossbow loaded with Vervain covered stakes came in. The teacher got the barrier open enough to get everyone out but then I realised you weren't there so I didn't go through and I found Pedro hiding under a table on the way up here." Penelope explained in as quiet a voice as she could. 

Just as Josie was about to respond the door burst open and Josie silenced herself . There was a long gap before finally they heard Pedro scream and they both struggled to keep inside. 

"Come out or I kill the kid." The man yelled as Penelope sighed and walked out followed by Josie with their hands in the air. The man let go of Pedro who ran off and then flicked Vervain water at both of them.

"Not Vampires. Where are the Vampires?" e asked angrily as Penelope answered.

"The whole school's gone on a trip. There's only witches and Wolves left at the school. " She said when he sighed and then his face lit up again. 

"Come on. I'm sure two hostage students will be enough to get them back." He said dragging them out of the school. When they got to the barrier he mumbled something and it disappeared meaning he was a witch.

Penelope and Josie were chucked into a van before he started to drive away.
