The Day My Heart Stopped (Soulmate-AU Bakugo x Reader)

A/N: Thank you @oofy_mhm for making a request, and I'm sorry if it's not how you expected. This as well as the previous will probably has 2nd parts.

Heartbeat. This is a soulmate AU where your heart is connected to your soulmates. When they are in immense pain, or feeling a heavy emotion, the soulmate can feel the pain as well. When soulmates make eye contact for the first time, their heartbeats completely stop for a brief moment.

Readers POV:

"I'm glad we get to be in the same class!" I chuckle lightly at my friends excitement.

"Me too, I still can't believe I made it in." A rough slap to my back tells me my friends about to say head up.

"Come on Y/N, you should be more confident in yourself! I mean you made it into class 1-A at UA. Keep your head up bro!" I roll my eyes as I keep my gaze trained at the ground.

"Fine," I lift my head, and my bangs fall to completely cover my face.

"Can you even see like that?" I nod, and my hair follows my movement.

"Kind of, I mean-" Hanta pulls me by the arm towards him, "s-sorry," I say softly brushing past the person I assume Hanta wanted to avoid me bumping into.

"Watch where you're going extra." I sigh softly as he walks on ahead of us.

"Pfft, what a personality."

"He has confidence at least."

"If by that you mean arrogance then yeah." I scrunch my nose, and return my gaze to the floor, using my hands to move my hair out of my face.

"We won't know till we see his ability, ya know?"

"You're right. Geez, I wonder if he's in our class." I shrug my shoulders as we enter the school building.

"Doesn't really matter." Hanta chuckled and continued light conversation as we made our way to our classroom. When we walked in he nudged my arm.

"He's here after all."

"Cool," I walked to a seat, and Hanta followed, sitting down besides me.

"I wonder what orientation is going to be like."

"Probably a normal one, this is a high school after all." I hear a soft chuckle come from Hanta. After Aizawa sensei comes in and talks to us, we all go change into our gym uniforms as instructed.

Orientation day was anything but a normal orientation day, I mean we were faced with the thought of expulsion on day one. On top of that I had a couple of brief moments where there was a pain in my chest. I tried my best to keep my head down, and stay out of trouble, but apparently in a class of aspiring heroes, where everyone is pretty loud and confident, it just makes you stand out more.

"L/N!"

"Hey, L/N!"

"Y/N, I think they're trying to get your attention," Hanta's arm slings over my shoulder and turns me to face the direction of the other voices.

"Umh, hi." I say, giving a small wave with my right hand, but still not bothering to look up at them.

"Wanna hangout? The entire class is thinking about hanging out tomorrow after school."

"Umh, I'm good. I was actually thinking about-"

"Yeah, they're coming!" I elbow Hanta in the ribs and look up at him, allowing my hair to fall and block the others from seeing me.

"Seriously Hanta?" I say softly, he just gives me his signature triangle smile and a thumbs up. I drop my head so my hair completely blocks my face, "fine."
