Ethan
She takes a deep breath and casts her eyes towards the child, who is now looking at us in a confused way. I smile at her and reach out for her hand. She stretches it out slowly, not sure whether I'm good enough to be trusted anymore.
"Come on my dear. Miss Apate and I have something important to discuss. It would be better if you run home now. Thank you for showing me the way. I'll bring you presents next time" I soothe her with words as I slowly head with her towards the door. She gets excited particularly when I mention presents, and I hold in the urge to scoff. I would hate for her to see what's coming next.
When I open the door for her, she waves at me and skips away happily. I lock the door and place my hands on the knob and the adjoining wall.
Òchi chòris ta logìa mou
Not without my utterance
This way, she won't escape this room. The walls and door are under my command and they will contain her here as long as I say so.
"What a lucky day for me. The mighty son of terror has graced me with his divine presence," She's taunting me and I know it. She knows how much I hate sarcasm. Not today though, I will not allow her to frustrate me. I turn and give her a charming smile then I head over to the farthest corner of the room, where a fireplace that hasn't been used in a long time stands. I'll just have to work with this one
"It does seem to be your lucky day my dear. After all, I have a present for you. Something,..lets just say something that will blow your mind away" My tone is slightly amused, since I can almost feel the wheels in her mind turning, trying to figure out a way to deceive me.
I flick my fingers towards the fireplace and a blazing fire starts immediately, warming up the room. I kneel and take the package out my pockets. "You know how grandfather cherishes me right," I slowly open the package, knowing her curiosity has peaked up.
"Ofcourse I do. The foolish Ares cannot see through the mediocrity that is visible to everyone else" She spits in disgust. I don't blame her for hating Ares. I don't even like him myself. But his affection caused me to stick with him, hoping to get something out of it. Which I eventually did
"Do you know he trusted me soo much, he even let me roam Olympus alone, with no one questioning me whatsoever?" I smile at the entrails that are laid carefully inside the package. I've waited so long to do this. I turn to look at her
"Zeus wouldn't trust you so foolishly. He let you on because he didn't want to argue with Ares. He..."Her words come to a halt when her eyes finally see what lies inside the package. Her fear is now more palpable and I can't hold back the snide smile that forms on my lips
I slowly pick up the entrails and give her a sideways glance. I can see her make slight movements towards me but before she reaches out to grab my hand, I drop them in the fire. She screeches and backs away, whispering to herself, and though I can't hear what she's saying, I'm sure she's convincing herself that's there must be another escape route.
I turn my attention to the fire and close my eyes in concentration. I can feel te power surging through me already and any doubt I may have had about this disappears completely.
Egò èkapsa ta dìka sou o Ophiotaurus. Tòra dòse mou ti dynàmi na skòtoso kai na anatrèpso tous theòus
I have burnt your entails oh Ophiotaurus. Now grant me the power to kill and overthrow gods.
The pressure of the surging power increases by a thousand fold and it fills every single bit of my being. I open my eyes and am not astonished at all to find myself glowing a deep crimson colour. I stand up and look at her. She steps back, still in disbelief of what has happened. I step towards her and she takes two steps back. She hits the wall with her back, and I can see her defense mechanism going up.
"You wouldn't do that Ethan. You would be cursed for the rest of your immortal life" She's blabbering now, trying to talk me out of it I'm sure. But I don't stop moving, and when I reach where she is, I hold her by the neck. Then I lift her up.
As she's choking and gasping for breath, memories flood my mind. Screams, laughter, blood. A lot of blood. Then the begging. Begging for death, begging for something hat would not be granted. I squeeze tighter. She looks like she has something to say, so I loosen my hold a little bit
I moìra sas ènai sto dròmo. den boreìs na skotòseis mia theà me kryò aìma kai na parameìneis athànatos gia olì tìn aioniòtita.
Your doom is on the way. You cannot murder a goddess in cold blood and remain immortal for all eternity.
I let out a laugh and drop her to the ground. She coughs and rubs her neck on the spot I held while choking her. She stands slowly and faces me. The screams come back to me. I can hear them as clearly as I can hear the Apate's coughs. I can feel the skin on my palm burning and itching. I raise my hands and stretch them towards her.
She is terrified now, and I'm glad for it. I am the reigning god of terror now. Crimson shadows start enveloping her and I can hear her screams once more. I bring my hands together slowly and the screams get even louder; but not louder than THE screams in my head. I bring my hands together completely in a rage of fury. All goes quiet in a sudden. I withdraw my hands and the shadows vanish. I look at the limp body on the ground and smile. Daddy would've been so proud.
I take the knife from my pocket and make an incision on her left thigh. I place the small bottles underneath and the when the Ichor dribbles inside, I can hear the screams in my head quieten down; and I sigh in satisfaction
