~Percy POV~

My day was going great, I was hanging out with my amazhang girlfriend, Annabeth, on the beach at camp, and later I was going to meet up with Nico, Thalia, and the rest of the seven for ice cream at a new place in NY. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky, and the smell of strawberries wafted across the lake. I had just turned to kiss Annabeth when Leo comes running up to us with his nose on fire. I was annoyed he interrupted my kiss so I lazily flicked my hand and drenched him with lake water.

"What do you want Leo?" asked Annabeth, snickering.

Leo glared at me before bouncing around again, yelling:

"Chiron said you and the rest of the seven plus Nico and Pine Cone Face are to come to the big house." I wonder what he could need with us, hopefully it wasn't another quest because we had just finished fighting two WARS, for gods' sake, and I think we deserve a break. I just want to live a normal life, or as normal as you can get for a demigod.

I turned to Annabeth trying to reassure her (and myself) that everything was fine and this was just a routine check-in. "Come-on, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth yelled, pulling me up.

We ran with Leo to the big house, his nose was on fire again from excitement and nerves, and walked to the 'war room' which was really just a medium-sized room with a ping pong table in the middle. Chiron, the rest of the seven, and Nico were already here, and we were just waiting on Thalia. As I had the thought, we heard hunting horns and Thalia appeared in the middle of the room in a flash of lightning.

"What's going on Chiron? We were tracking the Eurymanthian Boar when I got your Iris Message." Chiron sighed and took a deep breath,

"I need the 9 of you to go on a quest" he said apprehensively.

Instant uproar followed his words, and all I could think was NO NO NO NO NO NO! There are OTHER demigods in the world right? Why is it always me!?

"Okay, before you immediately reject this idea, hear me out. As you all know, after the war with Gaia, our ranks have been severely depleted, as have those of Camp Jupiter. We need more demigods, in case there's an attack on camp, or even another war." At this the atmosphere in the room instantly saddened as my friends and I listened with somber faces. We had lost too many friends and family members in the last two wars, and we might not be able to survive another one.

"I see I have your attention" Chiron said, then continued, "a couple centuries ago, the gods decided to create another world. It doesn't appear on any of the maps and, as far they're concerned, they're the only ones in the world. There are only five continents on this other world: Ravka, Shu Han, Fjerda, Noyvi Zem, and Kerch."

"Wait a minute, so there's a couple new continents, that's really cool and all, but what does it have to do with us?" I asked, confused.

"Well, Percy, I was just getting to that. We have just discovered that there are demigods in Kerch, and we need the nine of you to go and get them before the monsters do. So, will you go?"       "Do we have a choice?" I grumbled.

     "No." answered Chiron.

"Then fine." I grumbled, less than happy at the prospect of yet another quest.

"How will we get there?" Annabeth asked.

"Hecate will teleport you there, along with the Argo III. But first, I need to explain a couple things. The place where you're going, Ketterdam, is a city of thieves." This is sounding better and better, I thought, sighing. "In this world, there are also people called Grisha, with powers similar to some of yours,"

"Like what?" asked Hazel, sounding intrigued (Big word people! Annabeth IS a good influence on me! And there's another one! Anyway, back to the story!)

"Well, there are people called Tidemakers, who have water powers just like Percy," the centaur replied, smiling at me. "There are also people called inferni, and they can control fire, like Leo," he shot an amused glance at Leo, whose nose was on fire as he jumped up and down, falling into Piper and singeing her shoulder.

"Watch it, Repair Boy!" she shouted at him, but he just grinned as I splashed him with more water from a pitcher on the table.

"Then there are people called squallers, who can control the winds, much like Jason and Thalia, although none are powerful enough to fly. Also, there are fabrikators, who can control and detect certain types of metal and earth. The last two are Heartrenders/healers and tailors. heartrenders can control anyone at will, although they need to see the person in order to do this. They can kill with a glance and heal you as well."

"So basically a watered down version of Apollo and Ares," Annabeth said thoughtfully.                       "Exactly. And last but not least, Tailors. They can adjust people's appearances, and anyone can look like anything."

"So basically," I said, "not only do we have to figure out who these new demigods are, get them to trust us, and somehow get them back to camp across an ocean, oh, and of course avoid being killed by monsters along the way -- we also have to watch out for thieves and random people running around with powers."

"That just about sums it up," Chiron replied cheerfully.

As he finished explaining, Hecate appeared next to Chiron, "Go get packed up, although I would recommend bringing nothing of value, as it will most likely get stolen." Great, just great!

I walked out of the big house, my arm around her waist. I dropped her off at the door of the Athena cabin, like any good boyfriend should, then ran back to my own cabin to get packed. Since we didn't want anyone to know about demigods, I couldn't bring any CHB shirts, so I just threw in a bunch of normal shirts and some jeans, as well as a photo album from Annabeth with pictures of me, the rest of the seven, and a couple with Thalia and Nico, taken with the special Demi-phone Leo made.  Annabeth came in and I kissed her affectionately.

"Seaweed brain, you'll never be able to close this." I gave her my baby seal eyes, "will you pwees help!"

"Fine," she said, and I grinned in triumph. No one can say no to my baby seal eyes!

After Annabeth finished packing our bags, we ran to half-blood hill, and Hecate teleported us to Kerch. We were in a harbor of some sort and there were people in weird masks and capes, as well as a couple people in bright, garish outfits.

"Welcome to the Barrel, and good luck, heroes!" Cue Hecate disappearing in a puff of smoke.

"We need to find a place to spend the night," said Annabeth,  she was looking devastated at the architecture, or lack thereof, and I could already see the gears in her head turning as she thought about how she would rebuild this city.

"No remodeling today, Wise Girl," I said hastily, we couldn't afford to zone out on a quest.

She pouted at me but nodded, "fine, just this once."

Piper got us all rooms for the night, although this is possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and that's saying a lot, since I come from New York. Oh well, may as well get used to it, I thought, resigning myself to an uncomfortable night.

New demigods, here we come!
