~Third Person POV~
When Kaz came to he was tied to a chair, legs bound to each of the chair legs and hands shackled behind his back. He looked around taking in his surroundings, he was in a drab grey room with no windows and only one door with no handle. The high ceiling had bright fluorescent lights that made a slight humming noise. The only other thing in the medium-sized room were three chairs, cushy recliners that looked very much out of place in the gloomy cell, for Kaz assumed that's what it was. Suddenly, with a loud bang the door slammed open and four figures walked in, the first was a gaunt looking girl of about 14 in a tattered red Kefta who was clearly a heartrender under the effects of Jurda Parem. The second was none other than Pekka Rollins, who sneered at him before sitting in the seat on the right. The third figure was Tante Heleen, and she looked hungrily at Kaz, as if weighing how much she could earn from him at the menagerie, which had been rebuilt last month. The fourth and final figure was Jan Van Eck, but instead of his usual clear blue eyes which were so similar to Wylan's, his eyes were a glowing, manic gold, and something about him made Kaz distinctly uneasy.
"What do you want this time?" Kaz snarled, he hated being bested, although he suspected his kidnapping had something to do with the small grisha girl standing behind the three and just off to the side.
"We want information, where your safe houses are, your bank account numbers, your shares in fifth harbor and the Crow Club, and your safe numbers and locations." replied Pekka.
"Oh is that all" Kaz asked sarcastically.
"I suppose asking you to relinquish the name Dirtyhands and leave the city for good would be too much to ask?"
"You would be correct, and I'm not giving you anything you yellow-bellied skivs."
"Well, if that's the way you feel, we'll just have to loosen your tongue." During this whole exchange Tante Heleen was reclining in her chair examining her nails as Van Eck just sat there sneering and looking extremely bored.
"Enough talk," he snapped, in a very un-Van Eck like way, "so Son of Hades, will you meet our demands or not?"
"Hmm, let me think... No, besides, if I do give you what you want, what's to stop you from killing me?"
"Very well, Olivia, squeeze him, just a little." Jan said, and his weird golden eyes glowed in anticipation.
The heartrender, stepped forward and raised both her hands, and suddenly agony shot through Kaz, as he did his best not to scream.
"As much as I would love to give you a few more scars," said Rollins, fingering the knife at his side, "Heleen has asked for you to have no physical scars because apparently that would spoil your worth at her Menagerie," at this he eyed Tante with distaste.
"No matter," replied Van Eck, he gestured to the grisha girl again, "hurt him until he talks, but make sure there are no physical scars and that he's still conscious, we'll check on him later." The young heartrender nodded and the three of them left, the door shutting with a loud bang behind them.
