I don't own Hamilton

[Aaron Burr:]

How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore

"Excuse me?" Rachel said turning to Burr and glaring.

"Hey, this isn't me!" Burr said defending himself.

and a
Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten
Spot in the Caribbean by providence, impoverished, in squalor
Grow up to be a hero and a scholar?

"A hero?" Jefferson said, "now that is debatable.'

[John Laurens:]
The ten-dollar Founding Father

"What does that mean?" Alex asked.

"You are on the ten dollar bill" Chaos said while creating one to show to everybody

"Oh, come on!" Thomas complained "he's on money? I'm on money too, right?"

"Yes, you are on the two dollar bill that no one uses anymore."

without a father
Got a lot farther by working a lot harder
By being a lot smarter
By being a self-starter
By fourteen, they placed him in charge of a trading charter

'Fourteen, damn pops." Philip said in amazement

"Philip! Language!" Eiza said

"Sorry ma!" he said with a sheepish grin.

[Thomas Jefferson:]
And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted
Away across the waves, he struggled and kept his guard up
Inside, he was longing for something to be a part of
The brother was ready to beg, steal, borrow, or barter

[James Madison:]
Then a hurricane came, and devastation reigned
Our man saw his future drip, dripping down the drain
Put a pencil to his temple, connected it to his brain
And he wrote his first refrain, a testament to his pain

Alexander just stared at the screen as almost everyone around the room shot him worried looks.

"Alex, is this why you're afraid of storms?" Eliza asked him softly. A silent nod from him confirmed her suspicions.

[Burr:]
Well, the word got around, they said, "This kid is insane, man."
Took up a collection just to send him to the mainland
"Get your education, don't forget from whence you came, and
The world's gonna know your name. What's your name, man?"

[Alexander Hamilton:]
Alexander Hamilton

"Yes! That is my son everyone!" Rachel said with pride as she hugged Alex

My name is Alexander Hamilton
And there's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait, just you wait...

[Eliza Hamilton:]
When he was ten his father split, full of it, debt-ridden
Two years later, see Alex and his mother bed-ridden
Half-dead sittin' in their own sick, the scent thick

[Full Company except Hamilton (whispering):]
And Alex got better but his mother went quick

Everyone looked at the screen in shock, how did he survive, being so young?

"I'm... dead?" His mother said, her expression unreadable.

Alex continued looking at the screen, he didn't want or need their sympathy.

[George Washington (Company):]
Moved in with a cousin,

"At least you still have family." Eliza said, trying to be positive

the cousin committed suicide

"Never mind..."

Left him with nothin' but ruined pride, something new inside
A voice saying, "Alex, you gotta fend for yourself."
He started retreatin' and readin' every treatise on the shelf

"Of course he did, I mean this is Alex we're talking about." Peggy joked, trying to ease the tension

[Burr (Company):]
There would've been nothin' left to do
For someone less astute
He would've been dead or destitute
Without a cent of restitution
Started workin', clerkin' for his late mother's landlord
Tradin' sugar cane and rum and all the things he can't afford
Scammin' for every book he can get his hands on
Plannin' for the future see him now as he stands on (ooh...)
The bow of a ship headed for a new land
In New York you can be a new man

[Company (Hamilton):]
In New York you can (just you wait) be a new man
In New York you can (just you wait) be a new man
In New York you can be a new man
[Women:] In New York
[Men:] New York
[Hamilton:] Just you wait!

[Company:]
Alexander Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton)
We are waiting in the wings for you (waiting in the wings for you)
You could never back down
You never learned to take your time!

"Oh, so I see nothing changes in the future." Angelica muttered.

Oh, Alexander Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton)
When America sings for you
Will they know what you overcame?
Will they know you rewrote the game?
The world will never be the same, oh

[Burr:]
The ship is in the harbor now
See if you can spot him ([Men:] Just you wait)
Another immigrant
Comin' up from the bottom ([Company:] Just you wait)
His enemies destroyed his rep
America forgot him

"Yeah right," Jefferson muttered bitterly, "They forgot him so much they made a freeking musical about him."

[Mulligan/Madison and Lafayette/Jefferson:]
We fought with him

"Fuck yeah we did!" Laf and Hurc yelled while high fiving each other

[Laurens/Philip:]
Me? I died for him

"Wait, what?" John said confused and frowning at the screen.

[Washington:]
Me? I trusted him

"Still do son!" Washington said with pride

[Eliza and Angelica and Peggy/Maria:]
Me? I loved him

"Like a brother!" Peggy said

"Yeah!" Angelica replied, agreeing a little too quickly

Eliza raised her eyebrows at her sisters

[Burr:]
And me? I'm the damn fool that shot him

With that line, absolute bedlam ensued.

Insults and shouts of,"You did what to my son?" made it impossible to hear anything, that was until the theater started rumbling.

"Shut it! All of you!" Chaos yelled; she was the cause of the rumbling. With that, the theater went quiet

[Company:]
There's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait!

[Burr:]
What's your name, man?

[Company:]

Alexander Hamilton!
