He was floating in the infinite blackness that was all around him, but it wasn’t like before - there was no gold light and warmth. Just a bitter, bitter cold.
He hung in the frozen void for eternity, unable to move and unable to speak.
As the eons passed he began to notice shapes in the black, shapes that seemed to form and dissipate in milliseconds in the corner of his eyes. Sometimes he could make out a shape of a great beast, hundreds of miles tall - for it just to disappear a second later.
As more time passed the shapes became more vivid, gliding listlessly into his point of view.
Finally the darkness took the shape of a man with bright glowing eyes, and the light blinded Soran as he cried in terror.
