Madara's POV:

My mouth opened slightly but I tried closing it before she noticed. A hero huh? The thought almost made me laugh. I'd lost the war and almost died. Though I'm thankful for the peaceful village we created through that, I was far from a hero.

I'd taken the lives of many, much more than I could fathom. Yet here was this girl who thought the Uchiha clan should see their fearsome leader as a hero. This girl who in the past few weeks has cared for me more than anyone has in a long time.

Sure Inabe cares about me but there's still fear. Akita doesn't have a hint of fear in her eyes even if she knows I'm much stronger than her. She looks at me with this strange glint. This girl was a mystery. Her clan, her abilities, those were a mystery. Though she does say almost everything that comes to her mind.

"Madara, we should get going." I nodded and walked out the door with her at my side. This had become the usual. She worked a lot, for me that is, and so we left together to meetings and such. On top of all that she lived really close so if she wasn't already with me she'd tag along.

We walked into a section of the forest that Hashirama had dedicated to this and saw Mito strapped to a table with Tobirama and Hashirama standing around her. There was also an older man and a ton of writing on the slab and Mito's body.

"Akita, Madara, thank you for coming." Hashirama said, he twiddled his thumbs and was pacing.

"Don't worry, it'll be okay." Akita told him as she nodded at the elder man. He put his hands together and released the nine tails. Immediately Akita's green eyes glowed and she put her hands together and commanded him to stop fighting and to try and suppress his chakra. "Kurama calm down!" She commanded and he stopped.

The ceremony went easily other than nine tails fighting Akita. He did it a couple of times and the simplest things would throw her focus off for a second and he'd slip out of her grasp. She was panting and sweating badly when we finished. Though she put on a fake smile, so Hashirama wasn't worried.

Mito on the other hand was out cold on the slab and Hashirama quickly ran to her side. Akita and I said our goodbyes and as soon as we were out of Hashirama's sight Akita fell to the ground. I turned to her quickly. She was alive, she just over exerted herself.

"Tch you ridiculous woman, I was there, you should've said you were tired." I scoffed and rolled my eyes before picking her up bridal style and carrying her back to my home. I had a spare bedroom she could rest in because I wasn't sure which house was hers.

I walked into my home and up to the spare room, lying her down gently before covering her with a blanket and walking out. I've become softer since the war days. Not entirely and mostly just with her.

Perhaps that's due to the way she treats me. She's never looked down on me or looked at me with even the slightest bit of fear in her eyes. She even tries to defend me and other Uchiha when it comes to Tobirama, which is more than most could say about others. Nobody dares to stand up to that white haired Senju.

Maybe she's not that bad, just maybe she is different from others I've met. Perhaps though I'm losing it in this odd world. For once in my life I'm not fighting to live. I can sit and enjoy tea, I can even sit and enjoy a decent meal.

Maybe this was ok, this world, these feelings... What were they though?

Akita's POV:

I woke up in a soft bed and a blanket draped over me. At first I was scared someone had picked me up in the woods. I got up and walked out and immediately realized the layout of the house. Madara had carried me back to his home so I'd be safe and not left me in the woods.

I went to the kitchen and made some warm honey tea. I leaned against the counter and noticed a light in the hall. It looked like it was coming from Madara's study. I walked closer and opened the door. "Madara?" I said softly. He wasn't there. I walked throughout the house and discovered that he was nowhere to be found.

Where could he be?
