Akita's POV:

I walked out to the back where the pond was and saw him leaning against the sakura tree. I stepped closer and he turned his head to me, what scared me was his bright red eyes. "Madara?" I asked even though I knew it was him.

He sighed and turned away from me again. "Go inside Akita." He grumbled a bit more grumpy than normal. I shook my head even if he couldn't see it and walked closer. "Are you deaf?" He snapped a bit louder than I expected.

"You're upset...what's wrong?" I asked gently. I wasn't sure why his eyes were red but I assumed it was the legendary sharingan the Uchiha possessed. He wasn't fighting so that wasn't why it had come out. I'd read up on it and it had a direct connection to the emotional part of your brain.

Madara scoffed and wouldn't look my way even though I was next to him at this point. "Izuna died around this time last year." My shoulder slumped and my hand reached for his arm. I held his bicep gently and ran my thumb over the clothed skin.

"Why did you say anything yesterday?" He could've told me, we could've delayed the nine tails business until after. He'd been there and no one had given him their condolences.

"You've been out for a week. I suppose it would've been ironic to lose my brother and you a year apart from each other." My eyes widened. I had no idea I'd been out that long... and here he thought he'd lost yet another person he cared about.

My body moved on its own and I wrapped my arms around him hugging him. He didn't move but he didn't hug me back. "I'm sorry you were alone, you shouldn't have been." I told him and I felt my eyes water slightly.

"Why do you do this? Feel sorry for me and apologize for things you can't control? You never knew my brother and yet you say you care." He looked down at me with a slight glare causing me to let go. I felt my cheeks heat up and I looked away.

"You're my friend so when you're hurting I do too. I don't want to see anyone in pain let alone someone I'm close to." I admitted shyly. Once again he scoffed and I would've bet that at the moment he was rolling his eyes.

He stepped forward and his voice cut through the otherwise silent night. "Well stop. Stop caring, I don't need your pity or your friendship." He looked over and those bright red eyes were glaring at me.

"Madara stop it, don't-"

"Leave! Didn't the Uzumaki's teach you to leave when you're not wanted?!" He raised his voice and turned his body to me, clenched fists at his sides. I stepped back but shook my head. He was hurt and he was pushing me away..

Before I could move back to his side he threw three kunai at me and then he blew a line of fire behind them. The fire remained and the action made me jump back. His glare remained and I found myself running out. I'd been nothing but a good friend to him and here he was blowing fire and throwing knives at me.

I felt tears run down my cheeks as I ran out of his house and to my own. I slammed the door behind me and leaned against it. I slammed my fist against it as I slid down the wooden door. "Dammit Madara.." I said to no one in particular. We'd become friends... well at least that's how I thought of him. The pain in his eyes tonight showed me that I meant something to him at least. I just wish I knew what.

The only thing I did know was that I won't speak with him until he apologizes. Though I knew that he was probably too stubborn to ever apologize. I sighed as I went and laid in bed curling up into a ball and wiping my eyes. All I could do was hope that I meant enough to him for him to apologize for what he'd done.

He'd crossed a line tonight, one I didn't think he would. I knew he was a warrior, it was evident in what little he'd said about his past. Maybe I just thought I saw good in him... I quickly shook my head at the thought. No Madara is good deep down but getting past the walls he puts up were the real challenge.
