Steph's POV:
"What do you mean Finn's on the card for tonight? I didn't put him on there." "Hunter told me to change it to Finn versus Kane." I closed my eyes in frustration and took deep breaths, "Then change it back." "I can't do that Steph, it's already been advertised. The fans are really hyped up about Balor versus Kane for the NXT portion," Dave sighed, "As an avid wrestling fan I am too. Finn Balor the Irish guy with the Japan background and the killer signatures versus the demon Kane? It'll pull in ratings." "Is that all you people care about around here? Ratings? The show will bring in ratings whether Finn is booked or not."
"But Finn is already booked now and it's just as a singles match instead of a tag match." "He just got out of the hospital hours ago," I glanced at Finn who was lying on the couch watching tv not paying any attention to my phone conversation, "You can't be serious." "It's out of my hands, Steph," He said and I shook my head. You'd think being a McMahon it'd be easier to have some control but think again. "Fine. Whatever. Bye." I hung up the phone. Finn cleared his throat, "Don't worry about it, Stephanie. I'll get through it, I always do." I looked at him, "It's not fair that your tag match went from a singles because my husband is a hypocritical bastard." Finn smiled a little about to say something but was interrupted by the door opening.
Both Finn and Hideo stood up positioned to fight but it was only Jaime and Joey. They had a look of disgust but a huge smirk on their faces as Joey cleared his throat, "I've just been informed that Finn's match has been changed to a steel cage match just to ensure that none of your friends decide to show up and help." I looked at Finn but he looked unfazed so I scoffed, "Unbelievable." "I'm sure Mr. Balor will do just fine. Hunter believes so. He's pulling for you tonight," Jaimie said to Finn. Finn grabbed my hand and looked at me but spoke to them, "I don't need Hunter's support. She's all the support I need."
Finn turned his attention back to them and let go of my hand. Him and Hideo both stepped closer to them as they started to stare at them nervously. "You tell Hunter," Finn started, his accent coming through strongly, "If he wants a war, I'm prepared to fight in one. I'm no pushover. I refuse to sit around and roll over. I don't care how many guys I gotta fight, I don't care how many beatings I'll suffer through, I will never surrender to him. Boss or not, I'm not afraid. So put me in your mediocre cage matches with the biggest and the baddest on the main roster and I'll guarantee you the fight from hell. I may lose a battle, but I will win the war. Because Finn Balor has risen."
It was a hell of a speech Finn gave. The kind that got blood pumping and adrenaline flowing into your veins. It was an invincible feeling. Then again, just being with Finn is an invincible feeling. Hideo smirked as J&J security trembled but tried to cover it up and they left the locker room speechless. Finn let go of my hand and followed closing the door behind them. I watched him slowly rest his forehead against the door and whisper, "What have I gotten myself into?" "You'll go out there and win tonight," Hideo said.
It was a great attempt of encouragement.Finn sat up and turned around. He slowly glanced between us then said, "I'm going to die out there in that ring. I mean I'm confident it'll be a good show but Kane is a monster. I'm not sure if I can pull this one off. Hideo, Steph when I die tonight, I'm leaving it to you to plan out my funeral." I shook my head, "Don't you think you're being a little dramatic? No ones dying tonight. Don't shake your head, listen to me. Hey!" I stepped in front of him and grabbed his face so he was forced to listen to me. I looked him in his eyes, "Tonight, while it may not be easy, is your night. This is Monday Night Raw. This is main roster, there's no room for doubt here."
"You think I can do it?" Finn asked. I shook my head then kissed his lips, "I know you can."
