Finn's POV:

It was the night that would change the landscape of the WWE forever. It was, as the universe called it, a "battle for Stephanie's heart" which was really funny to me. The reason being that I am no longer the man who has Stephanie's heart. I don't believe I ever had her heart.

And why would I?

I couldn't handle a woman as powerful as Stephanie McMahon. I could hardly handle Paige, what made me think I could handle Stephanie McMahon? I know what it was. It was those hazel eyes that poured into mine as we made love until the wee hours of the morning. It was holding her as she cried the night our affair began. It was watching the sunrise and lying in bed joking around. It was watching some dumb sappy movie that didn't make sense to me and having her explains some of the things going on in the movie. It was sharing a tub of ice cream while watching said movie.

Little things. Little things that I didn't cherish in the moment but I sure do now.

I'd be lying to you if I'd said I don't miss her. Being with her, feeling her, being wanted for a change. That's the crazy about falling in love. While unexpected and unintentional, it's so rare. So beautiful.

But in an instant, she claws deep into your soul with her red painted fingernails and rips it out with her bare hands. That made my blood boil, my heart racing.

How could she do this to me? After everything we'd been through, she just ends it abruptly. I lost friends because of her. My relationship with Hideo may never recover because of her. Well, her and Nikki.

"Hey, Finn?" I snapped out of it to meet the pale blue eyes of Renee Young.

I looked down at the petite blonde as she asked, "Are you ready?"

"Ready?" I asked.

"The pre-match interview? No one told you? Guys you were suppose to tell Finn that he was being interviewed," She looked at a cameraman and he looked panicked.

I held my hand up, "No, no I'm sorry. I remember now. It's fine. I'm sorry I've been...a bit distracted as of late."

"I know what you mean, man. Wrestlemania jitters and all. Especially since this is your first one. Look, don't be nervous. Just give it your all."

"Thanks Renee."

"No problem. Alright, now look that way and on the count of three we're rolling."

I looked into the camera as the cameraman counted to three then made a signal that I don't understand. I guess it meant to go because Renee started talking.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, Finn Balor."

I nodded and smiled, "Hello."

"Finn tonight is your very first Wrestlemania and its up against the man who gave you a job in the WWE. A man you respect immensely and scouted you personally to bring specifically to the WWE. What's that feel like?"

"It's indescribable. I respect Hunter immensely like you said but tonight, I'm not facing my boss. I'm fighting Triple H the wrestler not Triple H my boss down at NXT. Tonight's contest should be something incredible and I can only hope to live up to the expectation."

"Finn, Hunter's been giving you along with Hideo a really hard time for a couple of months now. Are you nervous that he'll pull some type of shenanigans tonight?"

"Not at all. I have confidence in myself to get the job done either way."

"Anything you'd like to say to your opponent tonight?"

"Absolutely," I grabbed the microphone and looked coldly into the camera lens, "Tonight isn't just a match to me. This is my career just beginning. That means I must pull out all the stops so Hunter, tonight, I unleash the demon. Good luck. And may the best man win."

I wouldn't say the best man won that night. The better man in the moment did. I unleashed the demon and held nothing back in the ring against Triple H but in the bitter end, I just couldn't get the job done. I'd lost my first Wrestlemania but the match was so impressive that everyone seemed to look over that. For a moment, it looked as if he was going to shake my hand.

That moment passed.

He didn't.

I wasn't nearly as surprised that I'd lost but more surprised at the outcome of the match between Stephanie and Nicole. Nicole had successfully defeated Stephanie but something about the match was, well, disappointing. Take nothing away from Nikki as a competitor but it seemed as if the bumps that Stephanie took from her were awkwardly taken and it didn't seem like it hurt at all. What also was strange about the match, it didn't end in a "Rack Attack" like her matches usually do. And since it was an "I Quit" match, when Steph said I quit, I didn't believe her. At all.

"That divas match was weird," is what everyone backstage was talking about all night even when Mania had ended.

"Yo Finn, did you hear?" I glanced at the door of my locker room then zipped my backpack up, shaking my head.

Paige walked towards me as I put my backpack on and she said, "Well, let's just say I know why that match didn't live up to the hype."

"Do you now?" I looked at her, "Then what is it?"

"They had to take it easy because Steph's pregnant."

I stared at her for a really long time trying to process if I'd heard things right, "What?"

"Pregnant. Like, with child. Like there's a little tiny baby inside her. Allegedly."

"Allegedly? Meaning it could be false?"

"Finn that's literally what allegedly means," She rolled her eyes.

"Well, my congrats to Hunter and Steph," I shrugged.

She looked at me weirdly, "You do know that baby could be yours."

"No," I shook my head. "I don't. And quite frankly, after the shit I've been through, I don't care if it is. I'm done with Stephanie McMahon."

I walked passed Paige as I made my way out the locker room and heard her shout, "You can't just avoid her."

"Oh yes, I can. Now, are you coming out with me to get shit face drunk or what?" I shouted behind me then chuckled as she appeared quickly with a huge smile on her face.

She said as we walked toward the parking lot, "Now you're talking my language. But, are you okay?"

I shrugged, "Honestly? I hope they're happy together."

And, that's it!

Or, is it?

It definitely is for awhile now.

The reason this story is legit eighteen chapters is because I lost inspiration for it.

And I was getting sick of it so.

I'm still debating about a sequel though.

Idk. I'm weird.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this adventure with Finn, Stephanie, and the rest of the cast.
