"Education is the key"
This was echoed into our ears throughout Primary school. Now that we have the education, the padlock was changed🙄
Well you see,
For our fellow non Nigerians. I am going to explain the Nigerian Educational system in my own words for you. Before a child enters Elementary/Primary school, he or she first of all attends Crèche for some period.👶
Before moving on to the Day care and from that to Nursery school or Kindergarten but we call it 'KG'.👦
From then on we go to Primary 1 other wise know as First grade and on till Primary 6 or sixth grade. During this period we have activities done yearly like Christmas Carols, Cultural Day, Interhouse or Interschool Sports.
And these various activities also have their own period in which they are celebrated.
Christmas Carols are done during the 1st semester or as we call it 1st Term which is between September to December.
Interhouse Sports is celebrated during second term which is between January to March.
And Cultural day can be celebrated during any term depending on the school.
And then Prize Giving Day/ Graduation Party is done during third term which is between April to July.
Cultural day is a day celebrating the different tribes and cultures of Nigeria. Every student, teacher and even official dresses in his or her traditional attire. Making presentations like dances, acting dramas and singing. Plus every Tribe cooks their official food and brings it to the party.
By the time a students gets to Primary 6. He or she writes an exam called 'Primary School Leaving Examination'. Popularly known as 'Primary 6 exam'
It is an exam written in order to show what you learnt during your primary school years. If you pass you get your certificate and cross over to secondary school.
But if you don't
You are in O. Y. O state
On Your Own
You either Repeat that year again or write a make up exam somewhere else.🤦
How was your Primary school experience?💃💃💃

But I loved it Sha😺😺
I am going to write Education part 2.
Later
Bye bye oooohh🕺🕺🏃🏃
