Last time, on Revolution Machine: After Tech was busted out of the Lastation Stockade by Average and Neptune, the three teamed up to destroy the top robot sentry Kingpin. Tech learned that there is a sinister plot between the CPUs using his machine against the people of Gamindustri. After deciding that he will have his revenge, Tech built a tri-wheel to bust the party out of Lastation and into the clear of Planeptune!
"Well shoot! She works like a charm!" Tech shouted as they roared down the streets of Lastation, the machinist holding onto his goggles. Average was rather focused on the road, but Neptune was having a rather good time.
"You're pretty good at this, Tech! I bet you and Nep Jr. will get along like two gamers at the same game con!" Tech was still hollering like it didn't bother him, but he was forced to duck when he heard gunshots whizzing past him. He turned from his view behind the tri-wheel to see that the border guards were already shooting at them. Tech cocked his gun, grinning wide.
"Looks like the party came right to us, lads! Hold on to yer hats, 'cuz I'm 'boutta send 'em flyin'!" Tech readied his revolver as guards seemed to pour out, trying to halt the path of the tri-wheel.
"Uhh, Tech? What am I supposed to do?!" Average cried, not wanting to damage the tri-wheel. Tech took a few shots at the nearby tower with his thunder bullets, causing sparks to hop all across it while he let out another valorous war cry.
"Just run 'em o'er! If they don' move, that's their fault! We don' gotta respect road laws!" Tech then started to stand, pointing his rear at the firing guards and slapping it a few times.
"Come an' get it, y'sissy-babies! Y'should've known NOT to tussle with the T.E.C.H!" As Tech was going back to fire, he took a stray bullet to the shoulder, howling in pain as he crumbled to his knees. Neptune gasped, turning around and starting to panic. Tech waved his hand, grinning as he loaded more thunder bullets into his gun.
"Don't worry 'bout it... This classifies this special trick o' mine as... 'Self defense'." Tech's gun began to radiate electrical sparks, them hopping across the gun but never passing Tech's glove. Tech pointed the barrel to the sky before releasing four rounds. Suddenly, the bullets dipped towards the amassing group of guards in the tri-wheel's way, circling above as it formed a thundercloud. The cloud was seething with electricity.
"KER-BLOOEY!" Tech shouted as the cloud unleashed a mass of thunderbolts down at the mass of guards, sending them all scattering. Tech let out another war cry as he shot at a few more, allowing the group to pass the Lastation border and make it into clean Planeptune territory. Tech was hopping around.
"If y'can't handle the heat, don' play wit th'Gunmage! Ahahaha! Woo, I ain't had that much fun in YEARS!" Tech exclaimed, but his adrenaline seemed to finally wear out, him slumping down in the back seat while gripping his shoulder. His arm was shaking, and blood was now all over his vest. Neptune gasped again, patting Average on the shoulder.
"Avy, he's hurt!"
"I'm going as fast as I can! I know Compa can help!"
"Nah, nah... I'll be fine. I've had... worse..." After trying to fight a little longer, unconsciousness finally took over Tech, though he still was quite proud of himself... It's not everyday he can use Bulletstorm, after all.(\/\/)
Tech seemed to weave in and out of consciousness, though when he finally came around, he was being looked over by someone with peach-colored hair. He pushed himself upright, but fell back down when he felt a stinging pain in his arm.
"No no, silly! You shouldn't try to get up just yet, you'll re-open the wound! How are you feeling, sleepyhead?" Tech, despite the nurse's wishes, forced himself upright once again, looking her over. He looked to his bandaged arm, then shrugged with his healthy shoulder.
"I feel like I got shot in the shoulder. Y'take that bullet out? I really hope y'took that thing out. It's embarrassin' to explain how y'still got a bullet in yer shoulder when yer tryin' to go through a metal detector..." Tech chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. The nurse smiled.
"Of course! Avy and Neppy wouldn't let me alone until you were all patched up! My name's Compa. Are you really -the- Tech Highwind?" Compa was wide-eyed, like a child in a candy shop. Tech simply huffed, flashing a small smile.
"The one an' only, miss. Where are 'em two, anyways? I hope they didn't wreck my tri-wheel while I was out cold... I would love to modify that thing some more."
"They made it here fine, thanks to you! And is the tri-wheel that car they came in? Iffy was looking at it in the basement. She seems really fascinated by it! Here, let me help you up; Iffy and the others are still down there, I'm sure they'd want to talk to you!" Compa gently pulled Tech off of the bed and onto his feet, heading out the door and leaving Tech alone. While he wanted to sit down and think about what just happened, he simply dismissed the idea and followed his nurse. There'd be time for thinking later. For now, he still needed to get to the bottom of all this... Why his goddess jailed him, but him specifically being the main issue. As he wandered down the hall, he tried to take in minor details to distract himself. The house was rather simple, not some high-tech hideout like he thought. He liked the rustic feeling. Such a large contrast to his old workshop. As he entered the foyer, he couldn't help but smile at the sun shining in. It was always cloudy in Lastation, so getting to not only see but feel the sun was a nice change of pace. Maybe I should make my next workshop near 'ere, fer the sun...
