Clarissa comes into Evelynn’s room
Clarissa: Wake up! It’s your special day!
Evelynn: I don’t wanna
Clarissa: Have you learned your text?
Evelynn: I stayed up all night
Clarissa: Then just continue without sleep
Clarissa starts being loud and gets Evelynn out of her bed
Evelynn: Okay, I give up! Just let me get dressed!
Clarissa: Sure
Alvard is in the living room. He’s drinking coffee.
Clarissa: Have you told her yet that you’re leaving?
Alvard: I … I couldn’t. She was devastated after what happened yesterday …
Clarissa: She’ll notice it tomorrow morning anyways. You two should talk to each other.
Alvard: I know, Clarissa. It’s just not that easy.
Clarissa: Why not?? You open your mouth and talk. People do it all the time, don’t make such a huge deal out of it.
Alvard: I’ll tell her after the play, I promise
Evelynn comes in
Evelynn: I’m ready! See you two later today! The play starts at 3 pm!
Clarissa: We’ll be there.
Evelynn leaves the room
Alvard: I won’t leave her without saying goodbye.
Clarissa: You’re leaving me too, you know
At school, Evelynn is in the classroom now
Teacher: The play is later today, is everyone ready??
Justin raises his hand
Teacher: Justin?
Justin: Helen is sick … she can’t come.
Teacher: But … she’s the main character!
Justin: She said we should give her role to somebody that’s not Laurel.
Teacher: Is there ANYBODY that knows her lines??
Alexa and Evelynn raise their hands
Evelynn: I do and I know her positions and everything about her costume.
Teacher: Okay! You get her role. Now let’s practise and hope this goes well!
Everyone walks out of the room, but Alexa stays. You can see the slightest hint of tears
They are practising a scene in the play. Evelynn is on the floor
Evelynn: What is happening to me??
Justin: It must be the serum my father was talking about …
Evelynn: What serum?! Did you mix something in my food?
Justin: No … But my father might have
Evelynn: How-
Evelynn screams in pain
Evelynn: What does it cause?!
Justin: I … don’t know
Hester comes running onto the stage
Hester: There was an explosion not too far from here … We need to leave and find a safe place.
Evelynn screams again. Hester sits down next to Evelynn
