Sunlight was filtering through the trees, and Lighttail walked through Thunderclan territory, Barkfur at her side. "I'm so sorry Lighttail. I was wrong to judge you after your mothers death." He mewed apologetically. Lighttail purred. "I forgive you." Barkfur sighed and looked at her. "Lighttail can I tell you something?" Lighttail turned to look at him. "Yes?" Barkfur was about to answer when a darkness began to spread through the clearing. Suddenly Barkfur was gone and Lighttail was alone, a she-cat beside her.

"Darlin, join the dark side... You shouldn't be afraid..." The she-cat mewed evilly. "Mapleshade will take care of you...Just give me some of your soul..." An evil laugh sent shivers down Lighttail's spine and she turned to run when Mapleshade turned in front of her. "Oh your not going anywhere..." Mapleshade mewed, about to rip Lighttail apart rattling sound awoke her from her dream. She awoke and hissed as a Twoleg approached her with a round shape full of pebbles. What was that dream? It felt so weird and real...It's probably just a nightmare.

Lighttail sighed and shook of her remaining fear to look at the food in front of her. Yuck! Kittypet slop. She pawed it disgustedly, and her belly rumbled. But I have to eat. She licked up a couple of the dry pellets, trying not to grimace. It had been two sunrises since the Twolegs had taken her from the alley, and she had given up hope that Barkfur and Silver were coming back for her. They probably don't even notice I'm gone. She mused sadly. We didn't even get to make up.

As the painful thought hit her, a tail brushed down her spine. Forcing down a shiver, she turned to see the tom that also lived with the Twolegs sit down beside her in her nest made of some sort of fluff. "Hello Lily." Lily nodded her head in greeting to him, trying not to yowl Its Lighttail you stupid kittypet! as he said the name that the Twolegs had given her. She was now known as Lily, even though deep inside she knew she would always remember her true warrior name, Lighttail. "Its good to see you've stopped trying to escape." The tom purred silkily.

Lily shuddered, remembering how she had tried her very best for the past two days to escape, only to be brought back to her nest by Twolegs. She tried biting, hissing, scratching, and clawing, but the Twolegs, one with long brown fur on her head and the other with only a shaggy mound of yellow fur on its head, had ignored it and just yelled for his mate when Lighttail tried, who would bring her back to her uncomfortable nest. "Yes Charles that's just great." She mewed, sarcasm dripping in every word she said.Charles ignored it and just scooted closer to Lily until his spotted fur was in her face. She forced down the urge to run away.

"It is isn't it? Now you can spend the rest of your life with me." Charles purred. Lily wanted to get up and run far, far, away from the tom but could only force a friendly flick of her tail before getting up and going for water. Anything to get away from you. She thought. Her mind was still furiously reeling from the last couple of sunrises. How she had saved Dee and then been chased away by  Darkclan cats out of nowhere, her fight with her former friends, the visits with her mother. She had no idea where Darkclan had came from, but she was assuming they had been following them. Anger boiled up inside of her at the thought.

Thanks a lot Rosefur! I wouldn't be here now if I hadn't saved Dee! Still upset, she dipped her head and began to lick the water in the weird container when a cry echoed through the house. Lily forced her fur to lay down as she looked back and saw the long-haired Twoleg rush towards the sound of and come back carrying a Twoleg kit wrapped in a furry thing. Its loud cries hurt Lily's ears and she forced down a miserable shiver and continued lapping.

To her annoyance Charles appeared beside her and started drinking too. She took a step back. Can I do anything alone? But as she retreated,Charles followed her. Annoyance spiked through her and she growled "Can you leave me alone?" Charles stared at her coldly, and to Lily's surprise she thought she might've saw a flicker of amusement in his eyes. "What is it then? Are you jus going to follow me around for the rest of my life?" she hissed. Charles laughed. "No, I was just going to ask if you wanted a tour of the territory."He twitched his whiskers. "The outside territory." Lily's heart leaped in her chest. A way out! Yes!
