Loki's POV

I wasn't allowed to touch Jasper as Harper was very protective of him but for good reason. I showed them to Harper's room and they decided to stay in there together instead of them each having their rooms. Harper didn't want Jasper out of her sight and for good reason too.

I walked back to the others and they glared at me. Well, it was manly Clint. "How come she remembers him but not Nat and I?" He asked not really wanting an answer.

"I think Loki and Harper had a good and strong relationship so it's shining through the barrier which is stopping her from remembering us," Bruce explained, making Clint even madder. "Loki, she trusts you so you need to get her to trust us," Bruce said to me and the others agreed.

"I'll try," I mumbled and headed to my room which was a few doors down from Harpers. I grabbed my book from before and went to Harper's room to see if I could help her. They were sitting on the floor hugging each other and just staring, scared, at the roof. "What happened?" I asked and knelt in front of them. I didn't want them to be scared because they needed to feel safe and secure if they were to trust us. I also didn't want her scared because I know how that feels.

"The roof keeps speaking," Harper said and hugged Jasper closer. Jasper was looking at the roof too but he didn't look as scared. He just looked confused and shocked.

"That's just J.A.R.V.I.S. He won't hurt you. In fact, he can't because he's an AI." I explained and helped them up to stand. We sat on the bed and Harper rested her head on my shoulder with Jasper on her lap. I began to read the story hoping to build her trust in me before trying to get her to trust others. I wanted to at least make her comfortable in her own room and around me. She needed a safe place.

I figured reading was the way to do that. Reading, being with my mum and food had always been ways to make me feel safer. I wasn't Harpers mother but I figured I could help her like my mother did.

I soon felt Harper go limp and Jasper soon followed behind as they fell asleep. I smiled to myself and put the book down then went to sleep myself, holding Harper and Jasper close to me.

I stretched arms but stopped halfway as I remembered that Harper and Jasper were still asleep on my lap. I sat for a while but heard a few stomachs grumble. I decided to go make breakfast and slid off the bed trying not to wake them. I managed to do it and I carefully went to make some food.

I made it to the kitchen before hearing a yell that was way to deep to be Jasper or Harper. I ran from the kitchen and back down the hall hoping she hadn't attacked anyone.

"LOKI!" Came Harper's voice but she didn't sound scared. It was more a call for me to come and see what she had done. I arrived to see Harper kneeling on Thor's back pinning his arms down on his back.

I stifled a laugh at the scene in front of me. It was a beautiful sight for me to see. "Brother, can you get Harper off me." My brother asked and I decided to help him. Just this once.

"Harper, come on. He isn't going to hurt you." I said and managed to free my brother from Harper's grip. She got off of him and went back into her room with a glare at Thor who was now rubbing his shoulder. "She's very protective over him," I said to him sensing his question.

"I was just going to check on them and she attacked me." He mumbled and walked down the hall. I chuckled then went into Harper's bedroom.

Jasper and Harper were hugging. She held him close not wanting anyone to take him away from her again. I sat on the bed and just watched as they stayed close to each other. Steve walked in and Jasper gave Harper a reassuring nod then they stood up and walked incredibly slowly out the door and towards the other Avengers. I followed behind them but nobody acknowledged me when I entered the room. Nat did. She gave me a polite nod of her head.

Tony waved at them as did most of them. Clint didn't look at anyone and instead glared at the ground. Nat took a few steps towards the two of them but stopped when she saw how terrified and protective Harper looked.

Harper turned to me and I nodded telling her that no one was going to hurt them. She nodded back and smiled softly at Nat. Nat smiled back but I could tell she was very happy about the interaction between them. All Harper needed was a nod or two or reassurance from me or Jasper and she wouldn't attack the person. That was good. That was progress.
