Chapter 8: Tanjiro's Blood Demon Art

Hey exam season is here so I'll not post as often??

Caught off-guard by inosuke's revelation, Tanjiro stuttered, "Wha-What are you talking about? Of course I'm not a demon!"

FLASHBACK

"Tanjiro. You'll need to be very careful about your identity. You'll meet stray demon slayers that will want to kill you with no hesitation. You may be good now but others won't see you that way. Avoid them the moment you see them. They will all wear the same kind of uniform. It looks like this." Zenitsu warned and showed him his master's old one.

"Pillars are a no-go. At your standard, you can't defeat them. I'm sorry. I don't know how they look like but My master was a pilllar himself once." Zenitsu pointed out.

"Eh? Kuwajima-San was one? That's so cool!" Tanjiro said in disbelief.

"I know right???" Zenitsu chimed with.

~end of flashback~

With a stone cold face, Inosuke threatened "Don't lie to me Monjiro. I know you're lying."  'The cats out the bag now...'  Tanjiro thought and sighed. Tanjiro looked down, and mumbled 'yes'. Inosuke clearly heard that.

'Ah what should I do? I hope Inosuke will be as kind as Zenitsu but that's a far dream!' Tanjiro thought. Tanjiro immediately got on his hands and knees, saying "I'm a demon! I'm sorry for trying to lie to you! But I swear! I've never eaten a single human since I turned!"

"Don't screw with me! I know that you eat humans! Your kind killed my Mother!" Inosuke ranted.

Inosuke POV
Hm? Why did I say that?? I'm with the boars! I have no family! The boars are my family!!!

Third person's POV

A woman with Long black hair appeared before Inosuke, cradling him in her arms. Inosuke seemed to have transformed back into a baby. He started to tear up and let out a huge cry. The woman lovingly pat his back, letting him calm down.

'I feel so safe in her arms...why?' Inosuke thought.

Then, it hit him. She was my mother!

His memories then lead him back to her crying and worried face. Her face went further and further away, as he felt the wind cutting past him. A silhouette's hand went through her neck, and blood droplets sprinkled his cheek. The silhouette made eye contact with him, but Inosuke could not make sense of the face, due to it being extremely dark. Then, he fell into a lake, whose currents were distancing him from the mysterious figure.

A regular human couldn't cut through someone's neck that easily. That means that the person that killed my mother was one of those 'demons'!

Tanjiro's POV

What is Inosuke doing? He's been sitting still after he said I was a demon. Well he's not wrong tho.

In a fit of rage, Inosuke kicked me in the stomach, sending me flying. Inosuke said with tears, "My Mother was killed by your kind! HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO TRUST YOU?"

Inosuke beat me into a pulp, but I would have been dead if not for my healing abilities. I did not want to fight back. Inosuke was just distraught! But if this continues any longer... night will end and I'll die!

With much regret, I reluctantly raised my finger to his forehead. Blood demon art: Memory Manipulation

My eyes glowed a pure red colour, like Muzan. A beam of light emitted from the tips of my fingers, into Inosuke's head. Inosuke fell into a trance and eventually collapsed. With much guilt in my heart, I left him there on the ground, turning away from my potential Friend.

a few minutes later

Hm? Why do I feel so tired? Tanjiro stumbled. I can't walk straight! Ah... I want to sleep.....

Then, Tanjiro fell into a deep sleep.
