The Other Gilmore Girl (book two)

Part 26

A/N: Hey guys so I would like to say sorry for not updating but I have just started to go back to school and I my head has been feeling like it might explode. I am going to try and update as soon as possible and has mush as possible. So I just wanted to say sorry in advance if in the future an upload is late. Now let's get into the part.

I was lining up for our end of year video when Paris taps me on the shoulder, "hey, how's that valedictorian speech coming along?" I shrug, "It's going good I guess, why do you ask?" She shrugs back, "I'm totally good with you becoming valedictorian over me. I actually googled the personal histories of Ivy-league valedictorians going back 25 years and found some enlightening statistics. They don't necessarily do too well in later life. Did you know that? A lot of business failure, crumbled marriages, suicides, obesity." After that she kept talking and I just turned back around. I was after Madeline and Louise and after that me and Rachel just went on with our normal day.

We soon found out mom and Sookie not only lost their jobs, but can't pay for the Dragonfly because mom has to use the money for Rory to go to Yale. Also unlike my mom and sister when I packed my backpack for Europe I didn't over pack. It was now the day of the graduation and as I got ready, mom and Rory were downstairs trying to re-pack. (Outfit above.)

I walk down stairs and see mom but no Rory, "mom, where's Rory?" Mom looks at me with wide eyes, "my baby's all grown up. You look beautiful, my little valedictorian." She hugs me and I smile, "mom I love you I really do, but an answer might be nice." Mom pulls away and smiles, "I don't know, she said something about going out and reading over her student body vice president speech. Speaking of, tell me all about your speech." I roll my eyes, "you'll just have to wait mom like everyone else."

I hear the door open and Noah saying, "honey I'm home!" I laugh and he walks into the living room, "I thought we agreed you would meet us at Chilton Happy Feet." He hugs me, "well kitty I just couldn't wait, I had to see you before. Oh, Lorelai look at how fast kitten's grown up." Mom laughs and Noah wipes away a fake tear and I smack him round the head, "hush you, I mean it."

I now was at Chilton with my cap and gown on hanging out with Rachel. Just then mom walks up to me, "look at you, with your yellow ribbon standing out from all the white ones. My daughter is the valedictorian." I laugh, "I get it mom, your proud." She then asks, "hey did you know that your sister asked for money from my parents for Yale?" I shake my head, "Nope, I didn't have a clue." Just then we're all told to line up and mom went back to her seat.

I was now up at the podium doing my speech, "firstly I would like to thank all of the faculty at this school, you challenged me and pushed me to where I am now. However the faculty were not the only people who helped me become the person I am standing in front of you." I look up from my paper and see Logan, Colin and Finn sneaking in the back. I smile and they give me cheeky grins before I continue, "It was also the people around me outside of these school gates, to start with my grandparents. Richard and Emily Gilmore have been nothing but kind and loving to me. They have been my rock, if I ever had problem I knew I could go to them. I am nothing if not proud to say be able to say I am their granddaughter. Then there is my friends in and outside of this school. They showed me who I really was and what my priorities should truly be. They have showed me family is not only blood but people you truly care for and can rely on.

And finally my true inspiration, the one that showed me nothing should stop me from achieving my dreams. My mother Lorelai Gilmore always made sure I knew I could anything and be anyone. Little did she know that growing up I only ever wanted to be her. She taught me how to sew and made me realise what my true calling was. So thank you mom, without you I would be lost."

After my speech I saw everyone I knew crying, even the boys and Camron. When everyone's speeches ended we all lined up. After Pairs my name was called out, "Christina May Gilmore." I walk up and take my diploma from the lady and shake Headmaster Charleston's hand, "well done Miss Gilmore." I smiles, "thank you sir, for everything."

After the ceremony I was pulled into a group hug with, Logan, Colin, Finn, Noah, and Rachel. When we pull apart Logan smiles, "so you to are finally coming to Yale. I personally can't wait, the party scene is so much better." I laugh at him, "you are aware we will have classes." Finn laughs, "and you my dear Christy will be late to almost all of them." I shake my head and then get pulled away from them by my mom.

We go over to Rory, grandpa, and grandma. Turns out they got us both cars, (car above) then Rory had to leave because her phone rings just leaving me and mom. Just then Camron and his parents walk over and he kisses my cheek.

His mom smiles, "you looked fantastic up there Christina, really." I smile back, "thank you Mrs Wilkins." She shakes her head, "please call us Penny and Gilbert. Lorelai, how have you been?" Mom looks shocked, "good, yeah. I'm sorry, how do you know my daughter." I laugh, "Mom, these are Camron's parents." She nods, "right, yeah sorry. My minds slow today, we should probably go find Rory so we can get home."

After she said that the Wilkin's family says goodbye and Cam said he would call me later, and Mom turns to me, "you can not date that boy." I frown, "what do you mean? I thought you liked him?" She sighs, "that family is no friend of mine. Your Grandmother may like them but I don't. They are rich and snobby, not to mention the way they treated me when I became pregnant." I scoff, "maybe they were, but when I went round they were nice and kind, and they never said a bad word about you or our family. You just can't help making everything about you, can you? People change mom, it's been years since you saw them."

Mom shakes her head, "no, I am your mother and what I say goes." I cross my arms, "I am not some doll you can just control mom. You know what you can go to Europe without me this summer, I'm done with you trying to control me. Go find Rory I'm she'll do whatever mommy tells her to like a good girl." With that I stomp over back to the brigade and tap Logan on the shoulder, "hey Charming? That invite to join you all traveling through Europe still up for grabs?" He smirks, "of course, Queenie." Noah gives me a look, "what about your mom and your sister." I roll my eyes, "what about them. Look I'll talk to you guys later I see Camron." Rachel laughs, "go get you man." As I walk away I think I see Logan's face fall but brush it off."

I wrap my arms round his back and whisper in his ear, "hey Danny." He turns around and holds me in his arms, "hey Sandy, so I see you like to hang out with dudes." I laugh but stop when I see his serious face, "is that a problem? Because they'll just friends, I mean I did date one but he's like my brother now. Also he now has this strange thing for redheads." He sighs but nods, "okay, if you're sure. So what are your plans for the summer, because you know I would spend it with you but my mom and dad have this family vacation planned." I nod, "I get it, I mean I was meant to go to Europe with my mom and sister. Then I got in a fight with my mom and I'm now going with my friends over there." He nods, "call me everyday, I can't wait to go to Yale with you." I kiss him and wink, "right back at ya Danny."
