I was in Rory's dorm room when her phone rang. I zoned out the conversation and when she ended the call she turns to me, "Gran's dead. The funeral is Friday and there will be a wake after." My eyes widen, "what? How's Grandpa." Rory shrugs, "I have no clue, mom said he was dealing but you know how close they were." I clear my throat, "I have classes on Friday, I'm gonna make a call so someone can take notes for me." Rory nods, "I'll do the same."
I leave the room and instead of calling someone to make notes I call Logan, "Logan?" "Wow, your calling me Logan. This must be serious." I sigh, "my Gran, you know the Gilmore queen before me, well she died and the funeral is Friday. I feel like I should be crying or something." "Chris it's fine if you can't cry. If it makes you feel better the brigade normally have a ceremony for members that have parted." I smile a little, "yeah, can we do it Saturday?" "of course and I can come with you if you want, to the funeral."
"No, my sister will be there. I don't think the first place you should meet her is at our Gran's funeral. Look I'll call you later I have to go." "of course I'll set up Saturday. Leave it all to me, from what I have heard she was a great women." I nod, "she was, from what I knew of her as well. Bye Logan." "Bye Chris, call me if you need me."
It was now Friday and grandpa answers the door and mom asks, "dad, why are you answering the door?" Grandpa looks down at his undone tie and says, "well, I heard it ring, so, um..." Mom sighed, "the maid's taking the day off again?" He then replies, "yeah, I suppose so. Uh, girls, it's nice to see you." We both give him a hug and say, "we're so sorry grandpa." He nods, "thank you girls." Rory then asks, "how are you?" He looks down at his tie, "well, I'm having a devil of a time with this tie." I look down, "and you're not wearing any shoes." He looks down, "what? oh, yeah, shoes." Rory ends up helping him with the tie and I go to get changed. (Outfit above.)
It was now the wake and I smile watching Grandpa looking like himself again. I then feel someone tap me on my shoulder, "fancy seeing you hear Queeny." I give him a hug, "what are you doing here?" He smiles, "my parents were invited, you know my family and yours are friends. So how are you?" I nod, "I'm fine, I heard something about my Gran and Egypt earlier. She really was adventurous, so how are the plans for tomorrow going." He nods taking a sip of his drink, "all good. I told Finn and Colin they would be in charge for the final touches. I left Rachel supervising them, everything will be fine."
I nod, "good, I'm glad. So will you be telling me what it is exactly." He shakes his head and then says, "I was thinking, you said about me meeting your sister for the first time. You are aware we already met, at that dinner at the inn." I smirk, "you did not meet, she heard about you then saw you. You did not talk with each other, and I think she already forgot what you look like." He gasps, "not possible I am way too handsome to be forgotten."
Just then a man and women walk up to us, "come on Logan it's time to go." Logan nods, "yes father. Once again Chris I am sorry for you lose." I nod, "thanks Logan. I'll see you at school." They leave and Logan turns around and sends me a wink and I smirk back shaking my head.
It is now Saturday night and me and the brigade and some of Gran's friends that were in the brigade with her are standing in the middle of the field. Logan takes a mic, "ladies and gentlemen. We gather here it celebrate the life of our past queen Lorelai Gilmore. So as tradition names it, we will light a lantern in her honor and then drink and get drunk in her name." We all let go of our lanterns and then a firework goes off and they form a crown.
I turn to the boys and Rachel, "this is perfect. Thank you all so much." They nod and Finn says, "of course. Your Gran was a legend, come on I think her friends are telling stories." They all walk over to hear them and as I go to join them Logan stops me, "we need to talk. Follow me." I nod and he leads me over to a tree and we sit down.
"Queeny, we should talk about the night you came to me." I look down, "I'm so sorry about that. I was a mess and stressed and I didn't know where else to go. It was kind of an instinct I didn't know I had." He takes my hands, "don't ever say sorry for being upset. I wanted to talk about Camron, has he called yet." I shake my head, "no he hasn't. You know after that night I stopped waiting for him to call." He makes me look at him, "what does that mean." I roll my eyes, "you know what I mean." He leans in and stops to make sure and before he can speak I kiss him and at first he's in shock and I pull away and he smirks, "yeah, I think I know what you mean. You might have to do it one more time to make sure though." I smile and kiss him and literal fireworks spark above us in the sky. It's perfect.
