The Other Gilmore Girl (book two)

Part 30

It was the weekend and Rory had gone back home saying she needed to think because her article on the dance didn't get into the paper. She asked if I wanted to come with her but I told her I had other plans. The truth is this weekend is the weekend I officially take my place in the brigade, It is the first gathering of the year and I can't wait.

All the new members, some of which weren't in the Jr brigade, were sent letters and instructions. One current member was going to collect them and the rest was a mystery. I was told to bring the tiara, a ball gown, an overnight bag, some normal clothes, and a bathing suit. The last one confused me and I asked Rachel if hers had that on it and she said it did. I brought one anyway, but I was still confused.

It was nine on a Saturday and I was stood in the hall with my bag and blindfold on. Someone then takes my hand, "come on Queenie, time for the fun to finally begin." I smirk, "lead the way Charming." After awhile we stop and I hear a door open, "help her majesty into the car will you?" I feel the warmth on my hand slip away and be replaced by I different hand helping in the car.

Halfway there I huff, "can I take this thing off." I hear a mummer in agreement making me think someone was near me. I hear an airy laugh and then a sigh and Finn's voice saying, "it's too early, why are you making me drive this early." I laugh, "oh shut you baby, you think any time the suns out is early" I hear a huff, "you are very rude, maybe we should reconsider you membership."

I then hear another voice I recognise, Rachel, "oh shut it. I think we all know you can't do that to her." Logan laughs, "well, I guess you both might as well take them off. You really do suck the fun out, we're here anyway." I take off the blindfold and as soon as we get out Finn runs off and I turn to Colin and he sighs, "Finn! Wait up! If you die I will be blamed and murdered by Tina!" I laugh as they both run off into the woods.

Logan offers us his arms, "please my ladies, I must take you to the others joining us." We take his arm and I shake my head, "whatever you say, where is Noah by the way." We start to walk and Logan smirks, "he's here not to worry. Guys got here a day earlier and got out of classes, he already passed and is in." I nod, "cool, so come on tell us what we have to do." We stop in front of a tent and he winks, "all will be revealed, now go and mingle." He pushes us in and we see girls laughing with champagne in hand.

Just was we were about to join when someone taps my shoulder and I turn around to see Robert, "we may need the tiara." I raise an eyebrow, "why is that? Do you plan to overthrow me?" He gasps, "no, how dare thy accuse me of such a thing." I shake my head and hand it to him with a smile as I say, "you break it, I break you." He bows, "thank you, I shall now take my leave."

When he's gone I take a glass and get to know the other girls with Rachel. Then the tent opens and Sophie walked in, "alright girls! Now you have all been picked by members of the brigade, but this does not mean you will get in. The boys came here yesterday and only four of them got to stay. This test is to see if you have the nerve to be in the brigade. Now you will all be given a colour, under the water are bracelets with that colour on. The catch is the water is invested with sharks, now would be the time to drop out if you want to. No one would judge you, you would just have to take you oath of secrets early. Anyone?" Three of the girls we were with looked at each other and then all left.

Now the remaining five of us were given a colour. Rachel was given purple and I was given silver. I look back to Sophie and she says, "like I said you all have bracelets under the water that colour. Christina, yours will be your tiara. Good luck, please get changed into the swimming suit you brought and the snorkel in the back." Once she leaves one of the girls turns to me, "why do you get a tiara. Surly the fastest should be given a tiara." I shake my head, "it's because my great grandmother was the queen of this place and now that I'm here when I get in I will be too. I'm a Gilmore after all." She looked at me in shock and then we got ready.

(Outfit above.) We all walked out and I saw everyone else on the other side of the river ready to watch us. I put my snorkel in and when the buzzer sounds unlike the others who hesitate me and Rachel dive right in. I swim to the bottom of the river and see my first shark. I swim behind a rock and hide until it's gone. I look around to see someone swim up in fright. The rules are if you go up without your bracelet your out. I snap out of it and continue to look for my tiara. I see a gimmer of silver and sparkles and I dive down towards it.

I see the girl from before hiding form a shark and the shark coming towards me when I get to my tiara. I look it dead in the eyes and pick up the tiara. I swim slightly above it and then forward. I look around and see Rachel swim away form a shark with a bracelet in her hand. She give me a nod and we both swim up together.

When we get out and hold out bracelet and tiara up they all cheer. The girls from before lost but I sweet looking girl got in. Her name was Harper, she looked like she couldn't hurt a fly but I guess I was wrong. I guess they were right, never judge a book by it's cover. After the trial I found my tent and after dropping off my bags we ate and I didn't change and just put my tiara on my wet hair. We spent the rest of the night around a campfire drinking and laughing the night away. Our heads are gonna hurt so bad tomorrow, but it was worth it. I felt at home with these guys, even Robert's grown on me.

A/N: Hey guys, so this wasn't as good as I wanted it to be but I hoped you liked it anyway. Now because I am back to school full time I am going to be updating less and maybe only once a week some weeks. I will try my hardest to update as much as I can.
