Vell began to smell the strong odor of burning spirit weed. The pungent odor was accompanied by thick smoke that burned her eyes as they opened. She looked down to see the hand she had cut bandaged up to her elbow.
"Must have had too much adrenaline Vell," Her brother Muwn was above her smiling. "That ice we removed from that old man cut you all the way up your arm, you didn't feel it?" She shook her head no feeling stupid as she did. He walked over to her and rubbed the fur on top of her head. "It's ok Vell, you did wonderfully. Now you got a good battle scar." His smile instantly calmed her down. Hearing her brother say that sparked pride in her soul. It wasn't until she saw her mother that she remembered everything that had happened.
"Where is father?"
"He is still in bed. Mother said he still isn't in the clear." Muwn reached down to his sister and helped her up. The two made their way over to the room her father was held in. Blood soaked rags were thrown about the room. His wound was exposed to the air to help in the healing process. The series of large scabs took up the entirety of the stump that was leftover. All that was left of Boreen's leg was half of the thigh. He still had an intense fever.
"Mother is there anything I can do to help?" Mue turned around to see Vell and Muwn at the entrance to the room.
"Vell, are you ok? Are you sure you should be up?"
"I am fine mother. I am only worried for father."
"All we can do is wait." Mue looked slightly afraid. Again Vell felt a surge of anger flow through her system. She tried her best to stay calm as she left the room. When she did she started to pace back and forth through the main room.
"Vell what's wrong?" It was Muwn again.
"We need to destroy that dragon," Vell growled out.
"No we have to think of the village, We should talk about leaving."
"We have to avenge father Muwn!"
"He isn't dead yet, but if we don't think of the villagers they might be." Vell felt her blood start to boil with anger. "Vell what's wrong?" Vell couldn't tell what was different but for some reason, she couldn't stop the anger from getting worse. Soon she began to sweat. She felt a fever coming over her body. It kept growing and growing until finally.
A loud bang echoed through the Torikk home. Mue ran out of the room to see where the sound came from. She saw a ring of soot around her daughter. "Vell, What happened?" All of the pieces of furniture in the room had been singed and pushed to the walls. Vell didn't know what to say. She looked at her mother for a few seconds and then took off out of the house.
