Snow poured down around the forest. A blizzard had blown in and was making it difficult to do much of anything outside of the treehouse. The little girl ran around with her cloak blowing behind her. Normally that would be fine, except today Torikk was trying to get a few chores done. Finally, after trying to get the girl to calm down Torikk broke down. "Ok little kitten, would you like to hear another story. Come get by the fire and I will tell you more about my clan."

"Yay!" the girl came running into the den and sat down, wrapping herself with her cloak.

Vell the Dragon Slayer

After some time Boreen and Mue went through the binding ceremony and after a few years had a litter of their own. Three kittens were joined into the family, Muwn, an all-white boy, Rawnt, an all-black boy, and finally a girl. She was a rambunctious black and white kitten named Vell. Vell was always misbehaving and playing all her brothers were trying their best to prove themselves worthy of being the next chief. Vell never cared about the position. Vell spent her days enjoying life. She helped her mother when asked, and when she didn't, she ran about excitedly enjoying life as much as possible. The good times didn't last. When the litter reached the age of twenty, the tribe had found its way into war.

The tribe was being led by Boreen against two other tribes in an attempt to secure the forest they lived in. His two sons joined up as generals in his military. They had both been trained by their father. Vell thought the war was a waste of time and hoped for a peaceful end to the fighting. After a few weeks of fighting the two enemy tribes joined forces and went against Boreen's military. The two groups joined up and forced Boreen's tribe out of their forest. They took no losses of soldiers but were pushed from their homes. Now they had no choice but to wander. It was winter and the snow started dwindling the tribe down. Members started suffering from frostbite and starvation. The tribe's first loss was a newborn kitten. The cold was too much for it to handle. Then more started dying, starting with the old and infants. Boreen didn't know how to do, and neither did Mue. Vell hated seeing her mother in such a state. One night she took off and explored the area around the tribe. They had been wandering lost through the wilderness for three months and found nowhere hospitable. Vell was determined to change that situation. She spent that entire night searching, as well as the following with no luck, but on the third night that changed. As she searched. In the middle of the snowstorm, she saw a valley, a valley that was somehow without snow. From what she could see it was full of fauna as well. Everything looked perfect from where she stood. She rushed back to her tribe. It was still night so she had to wake her mother and father. Boreen heard what she had to say and took a chance. He followed her back to the point she had seen everything from and was awestruck when he saw it as well.

"It's better than our original home. You did it Vell, you found us a new place to live." The two rushed back to the village, woke them all, and took them to the valley she found. It took two more days for them to find the exact spot they wished to build but when they did preparation for a celebration began immediately.
