Trigger warnings: strong language, fighting and violence, mentions of blood
Zak's pov
I sat on my creaky mattress for probably the last time, waiting for a6d to come back. Some guard had a whispering session with him when letting him out the cell, got to ask what that's all about. A few minutes later, a pleased looking a6d walked back in the cell, siting on his bed.
"So, how'd it go?" I ask, wanting to know if everything's going to plan.
"Yeah, told a few lies here and there, heard people talking about planning to take revenge at breakfast," a6d answered with a smug smile.
"Good job dude, good job!" I punch a6d lightly, adding even more confidence to his character then he already has. He thanked me for the compliment, and we went back to planning stuff out, until the guards came around signifying it was time for breakfast.
"Alright, just stay clear of the fighting Zak, don't want to mess anything up" a6d said.
"You're the one telling me!" I joked, with a nervous laugh at the end. It only made sense that I'd be nervous on what's probably the most significant day in my life so far.
We stood up and made our way out the cell and into the cafeteria. Everyone seemed pretty calm for now. Shit.
"a6d what do we do!?" I say, panicking slightly. I looked around and everyone seemed to be getting on. "a6d do something quick!" I order him, desperate for this plan to work. There was no way we weren't escaping.
"Dude calm down, I got this" a6d assured me. He walked over to a few guys that don't usually get associated with fights, and did what I assumed was tell them to stay out the way, because they instantly stood up and made they're way over to other side of the cafeteria. "Right, time to cause a scene."
I watched in awe as a6d fabricated nasty lies with ease, visibly making the air thick with anger and tension. You could see the prisoners just ready to burst at any moment. Annoyingly, a guard spotted a6d's doings, and grabbed hold of him by the collar.
"Going to try cause drama are you? Let's see how well you do that... In your cell!" And with that the guard dragged him back. The poor guy didn't even get breakfast.
"Its all up to you Zak!" a6d whispered, confirming the thing I dreaded most. Gulping, I made my way over to the angry prisoners. I was never one to tell lies, so this truly terrified me.
"H- hey" I said, instantly regretting opening my mouth.
"What. Do. You. Want." Grumbled everyone on the table. I contemplated what to say, It's got to be something that will make them furious at each other, but not me. I acknowledged the different friend groups (If you could even call them that) and thought out who would back who up. Well, it's now or never.
"S-Sapnap?" (You know what? Everyone has weird nicknames in this prison, don't bother asking me to describe it to you. I think Sapnap's number is M1 or something like that, but again, no one calls him that) I mutter, barely audible.
"Yes?" He answered through gritted teeth, still irritated from a6d.
"W- Wilbur over there might have called you a... a..." What should I say!!!??? here it goes...
"Bitch boy" I whisper, almost like the phrase was forbidden. It worked though. Less than a second later Sapnap shot up at crazy speeds, almost knocking me over. He rushed over to Wilbur and punched him right in the face, sending poor Wilbur flying head first into the floor. "I'm sorry Wilbur," I said in a hushed tone, although I might as well have not said it at all, It's not like Wilbur could hear me.
"Dude what the fuck!" Shouted A9, though since He's just a child people have taken to calling him Tommy. He's well known in this prison for being a famous illegal drug dealer, along with Wilbur and his best friend Tubbo.
"Yeah Sapnap, What the hell was that for!?" Wilbur shouted, rubbing his head in the spot it hit the floor.
"Let's see who's the bitch boy now," Sapnap sniggered. Now Wilbur was quite sensible, a role model some might say. Sure, he likes to sell drugs, but he's actually quite reasonable.
"Sapnap, clearly you'll always be the bitch boy, that's just facts. Doesn't mean we have to fight it out," Said Wilbur, although this just infuriated Sapnap even more.
"What!? Oh, so you want to have a go now Wilbur?" Sapnap questioned, "Bring it on!"
"Whoa now there, calm down-" Started Wilbur, only to be interrupted by Tommy.
"No Wilbur, there's no reason for Sapnap to calm down, and neither shall we!" After saying this, Tommy clambered onto the table, broadcasting his already loud voice to every corner of the room. "Why should we, Tommy Wilbur and Tubbo, stand for unequal treatment from a dirty dishrag?! The answer is we shouldn't stand for it! Sapnap wants to start a war? So be it! We would rather die than go down without a fight!" Tommy preached, getting a few "Yeah!"s and "Woohoo!"s from the crowd. "We will fight Sapnap, fight... till the death."
Oh crap, what have I done.
"Wait Tommy, are you actually going to fight to the death?" Whispered Tubbo, concerned for his friend's health.
"No of course not Tubbo, just need to get everyone pogged up!" Whispered Tommy back. "Trust me!" That is what Tubbo has been doing for the past few years and it got him in jail, but Tommy was his friend. No matter what Tommy wanted to do, Tubbo was there for him. It was very wholesome honestly, but I have a feeling this war isn't going to be wholesome in the slightest.
"So, you want to throw hands at big man Wilbur?" Tommy asked threateningly. He's a good kid, heart in the right place and all, just a little strange. "So be it, Snapmap." Tommy spat out the disgraceful version of Sapnap's nickname with hatred gaining a few more glances from the prisoners. Out of nowhere Tommy sprinted up to Sapnap, tackling him to the ground. Tommy wasn't the strongest kid, but the advantage of surprise worked well, and Tommy managed to push Sapnap onto the floor. "Tommy stop! You might hurt him!" Called out a worried Tubbo, he didn't want Tommy to get in trouble after all. "It's all good Tubbo! I learnt this type of karate which doesn't actually hurt the person!" Tommy explained.
However, Tommy got quite distracted trying to explain this to Tubbo, and Sapnap managed to escape through his loosened grip. "Behind you-" Wilbur started off, but I could tell he still had a major headache from that hit. Mental note: say sorry to Wilbur for this one day. Tommy quickly turned around just in time to see Sapnap about to hit him on the head with a plate. Everything seemed to slow down, time freezing where it was. I can't let a 16 year old get bashed for my doing. I ran up to Sapnap and pushed him over before he had time to hit Tommy.
At once, I squealed "Sorry Sapnap!" Not wanting to get on his bad side. Now I'm kind of glad a6d wasn't here, he definitely would have found a way of getting involved with this.
"Sorry? Sorry?" Sapnap grimaced. "You've done it now Zak," And with that, Sapnap sprang to his feet, fists out and ready. "What do you say we have a proper one-on-one boxing match eh?"
Crap crap crap.
"Uh- that won't be necessary!" I quickly tell him.
"You sure Zak, because it seems very necessary to me." He answers, throwing the first punch. Luckily I was ready for it, because I managed to dodge with quite some time spare. Somewhere from the back of the cafeteria, a faint chant of "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Could be heard, soon spreading all across the room. The least I could do was try not to get mashed into tiny pieces, so I scrunched up my sweaty palms, getting into somewhat of a fighting stance. BASH-
The white light flashed before me, the last thing I saw was a bit of blood, presumably mine, and a guard calling on the telephone "Request for warden! I repeat, request for warden! Prisoner down-"
