My name is Elsa, but people call me the Snow Queen.
I woke up to snowflakes. I blinked the sleep out of my eyes, and looked around the room sleepily without raising my head. It took a moment to notice a small crowd of servants, maybe three or four, crowded near the doorway. I wondered why they had not woken me up, as they where supposed to. Then I noticed the small cloud above me sprinkling snowflakes down on my head and face, as they did most nights, and realized they had come to watch the show.
By now, I was slightly most awake, so I opened my eyes a little more, as to hint the servants that I was awake. One gasped at this, and they all, in a big bundle, began to crowd out the door. One was pushed forward next to the bed while the others left, and she nervously mumbled, "Good morning, Mistress." I uncomfortable replied "Good morning. Has Anna woken?"
"Yes, she was woken up a half hour ago." I decided not to bother to ask why Anna was woken up and I was not, partly because I already knew, so I replied,"Thank you. You are dismissed." She bowed, still shaken from previously, and left.
I stood up and stretched. I was about to change into a dress, using my ice powers, but as I did, I hesitated. I usually made a new, shimmering dress every morning, but the little show from this morning made me uneasy. So I picked out an old dress from my closet. It felt tight and heavy, compared to my regular, weightless snow dresses, but it made me feel normal. Almost.
I headed down the staircase to the dinning room for breakfast. "Anna?" I called. As I entered the dinning room I saw ,to my disappointment, Olaf and Sven, but no Anna. "Olaf, where's Anna?" I asked. He smiled, and in a warm, playful tone answered" Hi Elsa! Anna and Kristof went out in a walk."
I sighed. I was happy for Anna and Kristof, but Anna never had time for me now. Anna was the only person who didn't care about my powers. Eventually, those two would be getting married and leave. And I would be all alone. I suddenly felt a very bad about all the years I had shut Anna out. But now, she was with someone else and Anna was happy without her.
Suddenly one of the maids burst out of the kitchen with my breakfast of hot pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage and a glass of cold orange juice. She laid the plate down before me. She looked up at me and cleared her throat, then said,"If the meal is not warm enough, simply ask. If the juice is not cold enough... You may just, em." She wiggled her fingers at the juice to indicate me using my power to freeze it." She gave me an awkward glance, and I quickly replied "Of course. That you."
She quickly curtsied and left. I sighed. More about my ice. Of course it is still new to them, but I cannot live my life like this. "Now they know, but I'm still alone." I smiled over at Olaf petting Sven and laughing in the corner at the other side of the dining room. They would always be there for me.
I wasn't quite hungry anymore, so I decided to go out to clear my head. "Olaf," I said. "I'm going out for a walk." He gave an excited look and went on with "Ooh!! Ooh!! Can me and Sven come? We can all go out and hold hands, and play together. Oh! And you can make snow and we could have a snowball fight and make snow angles!"- Olaf went on as I sighed. More about my ice. "Olaf" I interrupted. He stopped and looked up at me. "I think it would be best if I went alone." He gave a confused, sad look and gently replied, "Ok."
