For the next few weeks, we met in that clearing. We would talk and laugh for about an hour each day. Sometimes we would run down the hillsides or eat fruits from the trees. I learned how to have fun again.
Then I would have to return to the castle. I had never met anyone so much like me. We both didn't need to be alone anymore. I eventually adjusted to the new clothes style, but Anna didn't. Everyday before I left Anna would ask me what I was doing and if she could come. And everyday I would tell her I was going for a walk, and I would prefer to be alone. I knew she worried about me, so after I returned from seeing Jack, I would reserve special time just for her. I knew she still was curious about where I was going, but I couldn't tell her.
That all changed one day.I went to see Jack, as always, for about an hour. We talked and played in the flowers. We eventually had to say goodbye. I began walking down the hill when I saw something behind me. I saw a blur of blue and red go behind a tree. I approached the tree. I looked behind it to see Anna looking the other way around the tree to see if I had seen her. "Phew! That was close." I heard her whisper. As she turned back to face me her eyes got wide. "Anna! You had no business spying on me! Why would you do that?" She stood up defensive and said, "I'm sorry Elsa, but you disappear every day and I wasn't allowed to know where or why. You know how I get! I don't want to be shut out again." I suddenly felt bad, seeing it from her point of view, but I had my reasons. We walked home in silence. As we neared the castle Anna peeped up, "Who was that boy?" I calmly said, "His name Is Jack." She looked at me and smiled. "Do you like him?" She asked. I blushed and said, "No." She huffed and asked, "then why do you disappear with him everyday?" I looked directly at Anna and said, "Because he makes me feel normal. Like I'm not queen, and I can't do, this!" I flicked my wrist in the air and snowflakes rain down on us.
She have me a sad look, then realized what I had just said. Anna said, "Wait a minute. He doesn't know?" I looked down, mostly in shame, and said, "No." We continued to walk in silence and as we entered the gates she said, "Elsa, I won't bother you and Jack anymore, but if you don't tell him about being queen and having ice powers, eventually someone else will. He can't hide up in the mountains forever. And when he finds out, he's more likely to stay your friend if you tell him instead of someone else." With that she left.
