The next morning, I woke up before the servants could fetch me. I had a lot of things to do before I could meet with Jack. In her excitement the began to make her dress, imagining snowflakes all around the neck, starting white and fading blue as it went to a long blue- wait. For Jack, I'm not a queen anymore. I'm a person. I went through the closet once more and found the most common thing I could- a simple blue gown, which I added my own snowflake designs from the waist down. I braided my hair down the side, like I always did, and just as I reached for the door to go eat breakfast I had a thought. One that scared me so bad I gasped at the thought. Shaking, I turned around and walked to my nightstand and opened it. Inside were a pair of light blue gloves. I had a brief flashback of the night my had revealed my powers. When I threw it in the wind that night, it had landed in a pasture, where it was eventually found and returned.
I kept them together in the nightstand, but never touched, or much less used them. I knew that I couldn't let Jack know about my ice, but would I dare. I hesitated.
No. I can control it. Then a line came to my head. "Conceal it. Don't feel it. Don't let it show."
Well, back to where I started. But this time, it's different. I had to shut them out so they wouldn't find out. Now they can't know or I'll have to shut them out. I sighed. Oh well.
I went down stairs for breakfast and ate as quick as I could. As I finished, Anna came down in a messy nightgown (I noticed drool at the neck) and her hair was a jungle. She looked at me sleeping and asked," Why are you up so early?" I honestly answered,"I have business in my office to attend to this morning." I didn't mention why I was doing it so early, but she was sleepy enough to not notice. I also took advantage of this by following up with, "Oh and Anna? I will be leaving at about noon and will be returning after an hour or so. She looked confused, so I quickly added," Feel free to sleep in as long as you'd like," this seemed to satisfy her, and I left for my office.
The paper work took all morning, and when I came out, the sun was already high in the sky. I quickly ate a small lunch before I left to go see Jack.
Anna, now awake, walked down as I ate and gave me a strange look. "Hey Elsa. Where have you been all day?" I replied, "In my office finishing up my work." She smiled and said ," "Oh good. Now we can go outside. We seriously need to spend more time together." I hesitated to reject that, but I still had to. I couldn't abandon Jack. "I'm sorry Anna, but I need to go. I told you this morning." She gave a troubled look. "Why?" I tried my best to come up with an excuse, but could think of nothing but, "Personal business." She sighed and said "Ok. I trust you Elsa. You should know you can tell me anything."I loved her, but I couldn't tell her about Jack. "Thank you Anna." And with that I left to go meet Jack.
As I walked up the mountain, my stomach filled with butterfly's. All my old doubts of Jack suddenly reappeared stronger than before. I finally reaches the clearing, and looked around. Beautiful flowers, trees, a small stream flowing nearby, but no Jack. My stomach dropped, and I quietly whimpered under my breath, "Jack?" Suddenly I heard a rustling above, and saw him standing above my in the tree I had hidden behind when we met. "Miss me Ellie?" I laughed, relieved, and answered, "My name is Elsa." He jumped down and said, "You never answered my question." I smiled and said, "Honestly, yes. We never set a rendezvous time." He replied, "Oh fancy words, Miss Fancy Fancy. By the way, nice dress. I like the snowflakes." I blushed and asked, "So how long have you been waiting here?" He shrugged and answered," I didn't leave. We didn't set a "rendezvous time" and I didn't want to kiss you, I! I.. I mean miss you. Not kiss, you! I mean, I don't want to not kiss you, ! But, I mean I didn't mean to say, " I laughed. I had worried for nothing. He wouldn't have left me. "So, you really stayed here all night, in this meadow?" He grinned and replied, "The stars are beautiful at night..." We stood there, staring at each other like it was the most normal thing in the world. His eyes were cold and icy, but warm and inviting. We sat in the flowers and talked the rest of the afternoon. When it was time I waved goodbye, and began my decent. I heard him call, "Wait!" I turned around to see him grin and say, "Are we on for tomorrow?" I smiled and curtsied, " Of course Mr. Frost." He stood up straight and answered, "Then fare well, my dear maiden Ellie." With that, I headed down for the kingdom.
