I was walking up through the mountains and the hill sides looking over the kingdom. I never really realized how beautiful it all looked in the spring. The trees were covered in cherry blossoms. Children ran around the streets laughing. The grass was green and small patches of flowers were everywhere. Of course, as a child, I never really got out. But now things were different. Kind of. I was still alone.
I continued up the mountain till I came to a small clearing. Then I heard a voice. I quickly hid behind a large oak tree and peaked out to see who was there.
Pacing around in the middle of the clearing was a young man, no older than 20. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket with a snowflake design near the neck. He wore brown cut off pants, and had to shoes. He was very skinny and rough.
Then he turned around so I could see his face. He was very pale and had bright blue eyes, the color of ice. His hair was white. It was short and messy. He was also holding a wooden staff, although he seemed to walk fine. He was strange I guess, but for some reason, he looked perfect.
I heard him sigh and say," Hello everybody! My name is Jack, and" - his voice became very stressed -" I, am sooo bored!" He laid down and groaned.
I suddenly felt bad for spying and stepped out. He looked at me and, with one eye brow raised and a smirk on his face, he said," Now who is this?" I cleared my throat awkwardly and answered," I am Elsa." I waited for him to realize I was the queen, but he never did. His eyes got wide and he stepped back. "Wait. You can see me?" I ignored his strange question. He didn't know about my being queen. And that meant he didn't know about my powers!
I realized that he was still staring at me and waiting for me to answer the question. It took me a moment to remember the absurd question, after which I answered "of course I can."
He looked stunned at this. We exchanged awkward glances for a moment, and to break the silence I asked,"Where are you from?"
He took a moment to think about this and answered, "I travel a lot. No real home." "But don't you have a family?" I inquired. With a sigh he said, "No. I used to, but that was a long time ago." I muttered under my breath,"I know how that feels." "What?" He asked. I realized he heard me and repeated, also with a sigh, "I know how that feels. Three years ago, my parents died. Ever since, I kind of... I shut my sister out."
I was looking down at my feet, but when I looked up, he was looking directly at me. "I'm sorry about your family." "You too." I replied.
I realized that I had probably been gone a long time. Anna and Kristof had probably returned, and no one knew where I was. I didn't want to leave, but knowing I had no choice I said, "I need to leave." He gave a concerned look and asked, "Do you have to?" Of course I didn't want to, I might not see him again! "Meet me here tommorow." I said. He smiled and leaned on his staff. "Ok." And with that I began to descend the hills back down to the kingdom.
When I arrived back at the castle Anna was waiting at the doors. She was pacing back and forth talking to herself. When she saw me she screamed "Elsa!" And ran at me faster than I knew she could. "Where were you?!?!" I calmly replied, "I was out on a walk. Didn't Olaf tell you?" She still seemed upset. "He did, but I didn't know where you where or when you would be back! What if something happened to you? "
I understood her concern, but I had other things on my mind, like Jack. "I'm sorry Anna. I won't do that without telling you first." She sighed and we together walked in the doors. As we did, one of the servants approached us and said, "Queen Elsa, a new stack of letters has been sent and is now in your office awaiting your response." I turned to face Anna and apologized then started to my office.
