Screaming. He heard screaming and praying and a voice that said seven words over and over: "Have faith, the gods will save us."

Have faith, the gods will save us...

...faith, the gods will save us...

... faith, ...gods save us...

"Hey, muffin! Wake up."

He opened his eyes. A blurry figure stood over him, speaking.
"Take it easy. Your body is new."

Already the memory was slipping away as he tried to sit up and speak.
"Who- who are you, where am I?"

"Whoa, stay there. Go slow. It takes some time to get used to."

"What does- what did you mean my body is-"
He looked down at himself and froze.

His skin was blue.
His breath hitched and he started to freak out. He held up his trembling hands and stared at them.
His skin was a soft sky blue; the insides of his palms were slightly lighter and through his fingertips he felt the brush of a warm breeze in the room. He felt a curious weight on his back; his breathing became rapid.

"Hey- hey. It's okay. You are okay. Look at me."

He tore his gaze away from his hands and took in the figure in front of him.

His crimson eyes peered at him out of a kind face. His skin was grey with a tinge of red and there were a few gold veins branching from the sides of his head and stopping under his eyes. Almost like he was crying golden tears. Two horns poked up from under his white hood; they were black as obsidian and veined with gold. He had on some black and red clothing under his creamy cloak, but his face was the most captivating.

He continued speaking.
"There you go, just look at me. Take things one at a time. What would you like to be called?"

"...Skeppy."
Skeppy frowned. He hadn't known that name just a second before.

"Nice to meet you, Skeppy. I am Badboyhalo."

"Badboyhalo?" The name was familiar in Skeppy's mouth, but he didn't know why.

"I know you have many questions. You can ask whenever you are ready."

A hundred questions came to Skeppy's tongue, but he didn't know which was more pressing. He found his voice and asked Badboyhalo, "Why do I look like this?"

Badboyhalo tilted his head. "Like what?"

In answer, Skeppy held out his hand.
"Blue."

"Oh, that's nothing unusual. My skin is grey, you see?"

"Okay." Skeppy shook his head; it still seemed strange.

"Where am I?"

"Heaven. Olympus, Elysium, Valhalla. The highest place."

"I'm dead?"

"Yes and no. Your old self died and you have been reincarnated into someone new, by me. You are a god, Skeppy."

"Why can I not remember anything?" The last impressions he had before waking up had faded away into nothing.

"Do not fret. You no longer need old memories; starting here, you can make fresh ones. You are new again. You are Skeppy now. Rejoice!" He opened his arms. "This is good news!"

Skeppy smiled faintly. He looked around for the first time.
They were in a large hall, open to the outdoors on one side with towering columns lining the edge, from which stairs descended. It was spacious and pleasant, a comfortable temperature and smelling like incense. He could see massive cumulus clouds drifting steadily outside.
He had been lying on a sturdy gold altar made comfortable by many fabrics and blankets. It was now he noticed he was only wearing a towel draped over his lap.

"Erm." He pulled it down to be certain it was completely covering him. "Can I have something to wear?"

"Of course, I will go get you something. But there is no need to be embarrassed." He moved to the side and pulled something from behind his back. "You can use this until I return." Then he left the room.

Skeppy looked curiously at what he had been given. It was a mirror. He pointed it at his face and gasped.

His eyes were a pale gold color, but the thing that shocked him was the fact that he had three. The third was on his forehead; it was slightly smaller than the other two. His hair was a darker blue than his skin, like a deep sapphire. It was very soft and gently curled down over his forehead and up from his ears.
He raised a hand and pat it, giggling to himself, pleased. It was bushier on the top than the sides, and floofy.

Then he noticed something over his shoulder. He turned his head and saw that he had wings. Cream-colored with a pink tint, they were feathered and downy and glossy. They sprouted up from his shoulder blades and rose to rounded peaks near his ears before trailing down his back and spreading over the altar on which he was seated.
It was difficult for him to see their length with the small mirror, he had to hold it above his head and look up.

Badboyhalo re-entered the room through a small door.
"Do you like it?"

Skeppy took a second to realize he meant his body.
"Oh, yes. Thank you."

"Of course." Badboyhalo placed the clothes next to him. "I was slightly worried; I am not very good with colors."

"I like it," Skeppy reaffirmed. "It's beautiful."

Badboyhalo offered him a warm smile under his blood-red eyes. The effect should have been frightening, but it filled Skeppy with joy.

"Go ahead and put these on-" Badboyhalo gestured to the clothes- "we have somewhere to be."
