JESSIE'S POV
"Hand it over, Dad", I looked into his teary eyes as he hugged the A4 file in his arms.
He shaked his head repeatedly and started to sob even more. I looked over at my older sister with a look of demand, they were both crying.
"Let her know dad, she will have to know it sooner or later anyways", she said and sniffed.
He slowly handed me the file and I opened it. It was my medical check, I scrolled down to the bottom of the paper and gasped, "last stage of cancer?". I looked back up to double check if it was my name and date of birth and everything.
"I, I.. what?", I didn't know what to say, I was in total shock, "I... cant... what... How come I never had any symptoms?"
"You do Jess, all the nights with your nose bleeding, you always ignore it and blame it on "all nighter shifts", my sister said.
My lungs burnt, and I felt lumps in my throat blocking me from speaking, my mouth dried up as my eyes started to do the opposite. I lost focus on what my eyes were looking at and started to release my tears. My heart ached like it was being stabbed repeatedly. Grace and dad hugged me tight and we all cried together for hours.

"Here", my dad handed me the tickets, "you better get going, have fun in LA, and don't think too much, I'm always here for a phone call."
I nodded, slowly stood up and hugged him, I turned back to Grace and she kissed me on the forehead, wished me luck and whispered, "come back whenever before your birthday".
Permanently moving to LA has always been the first thing in my bucket list, that's why I have been working so hard day and night trying to save as much money as possible, I had so many plans written down to be excited about. Now all that for nothing, I have no future, I was going to die, no way out.
I pulled out the medical check and skimmed across for my "due date". "Three months?", I whispered to myself, my heart started aching again as I close the file and put it back in my bag and make my way to the plane.

NARRATOR
Jessie sat down in her seat next to the window and opened up a notebook, she turned it to the "Bucket List" page. She ticked "Moving to LA" even though this was just a vacation.
"You're going to LA too?", a boy sitting down beside her said while looking at her book.
She jumped and stared at him, he smiled and looked back and forth at her and the notebook, and stopped. The pairs of hazel brown eyes were looking straight into each other, until Jess faked a cough and moved her head back at her book and closed it, "Yeah, it's um, just a little vacation."
"Oh, okay..." he said awkwardly, "you look really young to be going by yourself."
"I'm 19", she turned her head to look at him.
"Oh!", he sounded surprised.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty"
"Wow you look really young to be 20 to be honest", Jess smiled, "you're only one year older than me."
"Thanks I guess", he laughed, and turned to look at her, "What's your name?"
She turned around as well and the eyes once again meet, her heart started beating faster for an unknown reason, she took about 5 seconds, still staring at him, "J-Jessie, you can call me Jess."
For some reason, Cameron thought that was adorable, her shyness, and the way she get distracted whenever their eyes meet.
He smiled and said, "Cameron".
