A cocky teen strode up to the track meeting. Everybody looked at him. He blinked his green eyes and ran his fingers through his black and white hair.
"This is our newest member of the track team, Joey." The coach introduced him. Someone followed Joey. "This is our other newest member, Moon." The coach said as he looked at the other person behind Joey. Joey and Moon looked at each other. A kid tapped Joey's back before he turned around to see who it was. The kid had blond hair and brown eyes.
"What do you want?" Joey asked the kid.
"I just wanted a friend-" The kid backed
up a bit.
"Well, how about ya go somewhere else and find a friend." Joey rudely told the kid. The
coach heard what Joey said and called him over.
"Do we talk to other kids like that?" The coach asked him.
"I don't know, depends on the kid." Joey shrugged.
"Do you wanna run that by me again, Joey?" The coach said through clenched teeth.
"Do you know who I am?" Joey asked the coach.
"Apparently not." The coach growled. Joey started to rub under his eye. The coach watched him confusion. When he rubbed what seemed like makeup off, a '#6' appeared under his eye.
"I'm Number Six of the escaped lab experiments. Heard of me?" Joey looked daringly at the coach. The coaches eyes widened as he remembered hearing about them in the newspaper.
"Joey!" Moon snapped. "You weren't supposed to tell anyone!"
"Don't worry, I've got this." Joey turned from Moon back to the coach. He stared intensely at the coach, and then the coach found himself not being able to remember what happened.
"Why am I here?" The coach asked. Joey stared even more intensely, before everyone except for Moon fell on the ground in a slumber.
"Joey!" Moon called.
"Wanna race?" Joey asked her.
"Whatever." Moon rolled her eyes and got in line with Joey at the finish line. They both started sprinting down the track. Joey was in the lead, but he suddenly fell to the ground when something spawned above him and fell right on top of him. Moon skidded to a halt. Joey got up and rubbed his head, only to see that it was Five who fell on him.
"Sorry about that." Five said as he brushed off his clothes.
"What the heck?! This better be good." Joey told Five.
"It might be worth your time." Five looked over to Joey.
"Spill." Moon told Five.
"I have detected something astronomical coming for us from another dimension." Five told them both. Moon wiped off the makeup under her eye to reveal '#1'.
"When does it arrive?" She asked.Five, Joey, and One all walked to an empty field next to the town.
"I told the others to meet us here in about 5 minutes." Five told them as they all stepped over tall weeds.
"What do you think is coming?" Joey asked him.
"I have my predictions, but I'm expecting something more important than them." Five said.
"Like what?" One asked him.
"Something that could change our view of something." Five told them.
They stopped in the middle of the field.
"If I got the equations right, it should open up a vortex and appear in this spot." Five said. They all looked over to see the others coming towards them.
"Let's see if you're right this time." Eleven sighed.
They all stood there, waiting for something.
"Are you sure something's coming?" Nine asked Five.
"Yes, Number Nine. Now please, wait in silence." Five commanded. Nine looked back at the field in front of him. Suddenly, after about 8 minutes of waiting there, a huge portal opened up. They all fought against the wind. They all squinted their eyes as they saw something coming through the portal. Or is it someone? All of a sudden, it all stopped. The portal disappeared and a girl with all white hair and pitch black eyes lightly landed in front of them. Five walked up to her.
"Hello. I'm Number Five of the Dimension Academy. I see you dimension hopped to get here. How did you obtain these powers, May I ask?" Five greeted himself. Then, Five noticed something. A '#0' tattooed under her eye.
"Number Zero, also from the Dimension Academy. I didn't obtain my powers, I earned them." The girl, Zero, told him.
"Number Zero..?" Five asked.
"That's me." The girl nodded once.
"I didn't know there was another one of us. Did you also escape from the lab?" Five wondered.
"Ah yes, A long time ago." Zero smiled.
"Oh?" Five scratched his head. "Where did you come from?" Five asked Zero.
"I came from many different locations." Zero said.
"In search for..?"
"In search for you."
"Why me?"
"As far as my knowledge, you're the only other being with the ability to dimension jump." Zero explained.
"And why do you need another person who can dimension jump?" Five asked her.
"We want you to come back and teach at Dimension Academy." Zero told him.
"What's In it for me?" Five bit his tongue.
"There are books among books about Dimensions. Just a little over a month there, and you'll know how to control your powers even better than if you stayed here for 10 years." Zero smiled.
"Is that right?" Five cracked his knuckles and gazed at Zero.
"Hold your anger there, child. You only wanna hurt me because you know I'm more knowledgeable than you." Zero grabbed his fist.
"That's not true. How can someone like you know more than me?" Five ripped his hand out of her grip.
"No offense Five, but she kinda looks like she's smarter than you." Nine said, clenching his teeth in preparation for Fives anger.
"Say that again and I'll pop your head off like a dandelion." Five whipped his body to face Nine.
"You caused a car crash.." Nine said in a low, shaky voice.
"I saved your life!" Five growled.
"Ahem.." Zero interrupted their bicker. Five gave one last anger-filled expression to None before he turned back around to face Zero.
"I'm sorry, please continue." Five pressed his lips together.
"Come back to Dimension Academy, and we will give you more to know about Dimensions than you could ever dream of knowing." Zero smiled. Five's eyes flickered like glitched television as he put his hands on his hips and looked at the grass below him. He felt someone grab ahold of his wrist.
"Number Eleven?" Five said as after he saw who it was.
"You're not going." Eleven told him.
"I thought you would be the one who would encourage me to go." Five told her.
"Normally I would, but we need you here." Eleven explained. Five looked over to Zero, and back at Eleven.
"We need to talk. Alone." Five told her.
"Why-?" Eleven almost tripped as Five yanked her away from the others. When they were far enough away to where the others couldn't hear them, Five began to talk.
"I don't trust her." Five shook his head as he but his bottom lip.
"Okay? And what are you gonna do? Kill her?" Eleven asked him.
"I thinking about it." Five shrugged.
"Five-"
"What else am I gonna do? Take her out to dinner. Maybe pay for it?" Five got closer to Eleven's face.
"Just-" Eleven closed her eyes. Five's face went blank and his eyes slowly faded from red to white as he waited to see what Eleven had to say. "Please don't get killed.." Eleven sighed as she opened her blue eyes. Five smiled slightly and stepped away from Elevens face. His eyes flickered black with satisfaction.
"I'll try my best." Five nodded before she walked back over to the crowd, followed by Eleven.
He stood right in front of Zero and put his hands in his pockets.
"I'll go." Five agreed.
"Great! Now say goodbye to your friends." Zero commanded. Five turned around to face them. His eyes glitched as he winked at them. Two and Ten looked at each other in confusion. Zero grabbed Five's shoulders and they both were gone with a small zap.
