Spencer awkwardly leaned back into the house as he opened the door fully. "Hotch" he said as his voice broke. The two continued to stare each other down as Jean came running back to the door, "Spence, I'm ready now so we can head-" she said as she saw Hotch and her sentence trailed off. "Spence, would you mind giving us a sec?" Jean mumbled, looking back at Hotchner.

"Of course, I'm just gonna go check out the balcony" he said awkwardly as he exited the area by the front door. Jean slowly closed the door and stepped outside. "Hotch, what're you doing here?" she whispered, tears threatening to fall from her face.

"Jeanette, I just wanted to talk everything out but it appears you're busy" he said bitterly, already walking back to his car parked on the side of the street. "Hotch, wait up, don't go" Jean shouted as he proceeded to get into his car.

Hotch started the ignition and rolled down the windows saying, "I expected a lot better from you, Jeanette". He begins to drive away until Jeanette starts shouting.

"Aaron Hotchner, do not drive away. I have been here at my apartment crying my eyes out. Is that what you wanted to hear? You literally stepped all over my heart and self esteem several hours ago and you think you have the right to be upset? Absolutely not. Talk to me when you're ready to be a man" she shouted at his car that had been put in park.

He looked back at her with his mouth agape as Jean looked at him, tears threatening to mess up her newly done makeup. His mind tried to find the right words to say but before he could say another word, the woman who had claimed his heart stalked back inside and slammed the door shut.

Jean locked the door and slid down the door as her tears poured down her face. Spencer ran over to her, placing his hand on her knees as they trembled. "I'm so sorry, Spence. I was really looking forward to going out with you tonight and now I'm a mess again" she said as her voice cracked.

"Jeanie, let me take care of you. I can make a mean spaghetti and meatballs from a recipe that Rossi taught me" he said with a smile. "Go upstairs and change into a pair of sweats and take the makeup off if you want, I'll get started cooking down here".

Jean began to head upstairs but ran back into the kitchen to where Spencer was, surprising him with a bear hug. She looked up at him and whispered, "Thank you" and gave him a light peck on the cheek. "Anything for you, Jeanie. Now go get those sweats on!" he laughed, lightly smacking her ass as she scampered up the stairs.

A short twenty minutes later, the aroma of pasta wafted upstairs, enticing Jean to come down to the kitchen. "Spencer, this smells amazing" Jean said as she walked into the kitchen adorned in a baggy sweatshirt with matching grey sweats and some bunny slippers she had been gifted in a White Elephant with the team several years ago.

He turns away from the pasta, looking at her with a goofy grin on his face as he pulls out a string of spaghetti. "Mademoiselle, care to share this spaghetti with me, a la Lady and the Tramp style?" he said. Jean nods and soon enough, their noses are centimeters apart and within several seconds, their lips connect.

As things began to heat up, Jean disconnected from him and leaned into him. "Let's see how great of a chef you really are, Spence" she said with a wink. He quickly puts the pasta on two plates for the two of them and two wine glasses as well, filled with red wine.

Spencer led her into her living room, where he had placed two cushions on the ground for them to sit and had even gone as far as to light up several candles around the room, creating a romantic atmosphere for the two of them.

Jean's mouth dropped as she looked at the date Spencer had prepared for her. She felt like she was on top of the world. Her and Spencer settled down onto the cushions and dug into the delicious spaghetti that he had made. "Spencer, this is delicious" Jean said as she twirled another bite of spaghetti into her mouth.

The pair sat there for hours in her living room, basking in each other's presence. They talked about everything that they could think of, from astrology, ghost stories, childhood pasts, their college experiences and much more. Jean had already known that Spencer was her best friend, but now, she felt like she had known him forever.

Together, they ended up on her balcony, laying out together as they looked out of the stars. "You know Spence, now that I know you're a Scorpio, everything makes so much sense" Jean said as she leaned forward and pinched his cheek lightly. Spencer's cheeks turned a light shade of pink at the comment, not only from Jean's compliment but also due to the several glasses of wine that him and Jean had consumed in the past few hours.

"Jean" Spencer whispered as silence finally consumed the space between them and connected their lips. Jean quickly lost herself in the kiss, gripping Spencer's hair as he continued to deepen the kiss. Spencer gripped her hips as she moved into his lap to feel closer to him.

Jean abruptly got up from him as she looked at him with lust-filled eyes. She grabbed his hand and proceeded to lead Spencer upstairs but as she went to open her bedroom door, Spencer stopped. "Spence, come on" Jean whispered seductively as she tugged on his arm. "Jean, wait. Are you sure about this?" Spencer said. "You can say no right now and we can go right back downstairs and put a movie on" he whispered.

"Spencer Reid, I've never been more sure about anything else. I want you" Jean said as she put a hand on his chest. "In that case, what're we waiting for?" Spencer said as he took her hand and followed her into the bedroom, gently shutting the door.
