"At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet."

Plato

Tony only made things worse for him and I. A string of bombings claimed by a terrorist known as the Mandarin have taken place. The attack at the TCL Chinese Theatre left Happy badly injured. I don't know why, and I can never understand Tony's reasoning but he saw that as the best moment to threaten the Mandarin and tell him our home address.

As I pack our bags, I hear Tony talking to someone downstairs. "Tony, is somebody there?"

I throw two bags over the railing, and they land right next to Tony in his Iron Man suit.

"Yeah, it's Maya Hansen," Tony tells me. I walk down the stairs and see a young woman smiling at me. "Old botanist pal that I used to know, barely." Tony moves towards Maya and speaks quietly. "Please don't tell me that there is a twelve-year-old kid waiting in the car that I've never met."

"He's thirteen. And no, I need your help," Maya teases.

"What...what for? Why now?" Tony asks.

"Because I read the papers, and, frankly, I don't think you'll last the week," Maya tells him.

"I'll be fine," Tony argues.

"I'm sorry. With Happy in the hospital, I didn't know we were expecting guests," I tell her.

"We weren't," Tony states.

"No, I..." Maya starts.

"And old girlfriends!" I remark.

"She's not really," Tony argues.

"No, not really. It... it was just one night," Maya tells me.

Tony nods. "Yep."

"That's how you did it, isn't it? Yep," I tease.

"It was a great night," Tony tells me.

"Well, you know..." I trail off.

Maya nods her head awkwardly. "Yeah."

"You have saved yourself a world of pain," I tell her.

"I'm sure," Maya says.

"What?" Tony asks me.

"Trust me," I tell Maya. I turn to Tony. "We're going out of town."

"Okay, we've been through this. Nope," Tony tells me.

"Yep!" I shout.

"The man says no," Tony states.

"Immediately and indefinitely!" I shout.

"Honey..." Tony starts.

"Great idea. Let's go," Maya says as she picks up the bags.

"I'm sorry. That's a terrible idea. Please don't touch her bags," Tony says.

"Tony, this is how normal people behave," I tell him.

"I can't protect you out there. I challenged..." Tony starts.

"Protect me? I don't need..." I start.

Maya looks at the rabbit Tony bought me. "Is...is that normal?"

"Yes, this is normal!" Tony shouts.

"Sadly, that... is very normal." I tell her.

"It's a big bunny, relax about it!" Tony shouts.

"Calm down!" I shout back.

"I got this for you," Tony tells me.

I nod my head. "I'm aware of that."
