"Love is something sent from heaven to worry the hell out of you."

Dolly Parton

I make the call to Steve telling him he needs to find Vision and bring him back to the Avengers HQ. I hang up the phone and turn to Bruce. "We need to go."

Bruce and I rush to the Avengers HQ. Rhodey meets us outside. He wraps me in a hug. "Don't tell me he is on that spaceship."

"You know he is," I pull away from him. "Peter is up there with him."

"What about the kids? Were they with you?" Rhodey asks.

I shake my head. "No. Thank god. They're with my dad." I turn to Bruce. "Why don't you go sit down for a while. Rhodey and I have a lot to figure out."

Rhodey and I stand in front of the hologram of Secretary Ross. "Still no word from Vision?" Secretary Ross questions.

"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh," I inform him.

"On a stolen Quinjet with four of the world's most wanted criminals," Secretary Ross states.

"You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right, sir?" Rhodey questions.

"My God, Rhodes, your talent for horseshit rivals my own," Secretary Ross remarks.

"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here," Rhodey argues.

"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel. As did you Miss Panagos," Secretary Ross reminds us.

"That's right. And I'm pretty sure I've paid for that," Rhodey assures him.

"You have second thoughts?" Secretary Ross asks.

Rhodey shakes his head. "Not anymore."

Steve, Nat, Sam, Vision, and Wanda walk into the room. I have to suppress the smile trying to form on my lips.

"Mr. Secretary," Steve greets.

"You got some nerve. I'll give you that," Secretary Ross states.

"You could use some of that right now," Nat counters.

"The world's on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?" Secretary Ross questions.

"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight." Steve takes a step forward, looking right at Ross. "And if you wanna stand in our way... we'll fight you, too."

"Arrest them," Secretary Ross orders.

"All over it," Rhodey assures him. He swipes off the hologram; the computer beeps twice. "That's a court-martial. It's great to see you, Cap."

Steve pulls Rhodey into a hug. "You too, Rhodey."

I pull Steve into my own embrace when Rhodey lets him go. It feels weird after such a long time, after how we ended thighs. Weird but welcoming.

"Well. You guys really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of years," I remark.

"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five star," Sam remarks.

"Uh, I think you look great." We turn around to see Bruce walking in from the opposite end of the room. "Uh... heh... Yeah. I'm back."

Nat smiles slightly. "Hi, Bruce."

Bruce smiles. "Nat."

"This is awkward," Sam whispers.

Bruce and I proceed to explain that Dr. Strange, Tony, and Peter Parker are stuck on some spaceships somewhere in the galaxy. We explain that the time stone is with them. And our only hope is to keep Vision out of reach of Thanos.
