Chapter 8.

School today was hectic. What made it bad no not bad was that I was paired with Liam during P.E class . We had to do most of the activities together and he ended up calling me kangaroo because of my weird hopping style. I was too tired to hop. Don't get me wrong. I love sports but I was just too tired to perform anything today.

Coming back home and facing mom after everything she did yesterday was a different thing entirely. I didn't want to face her. But what I'm confused about was the reason why she drank yesterday. Why was she drunk. Over the past few months I haven't seen her drunk.

Sighing as I opened the door of my house, I noticed the quietness in it. It seems mom isn't around. I didn't care because she usually don't tell me anything but at the same time I cared for her safety. She's the only one I have. We only have each other.

I sighted a letter on the table that read:

Honey!! Sorry about yesterday. I was drunk and I didn't mean what I said. I went out but I would be right back. Take care of yourself. Love you

Oh! She remembered what happened yesterday

I folded the letter and went upstairs to my room. I had a quick bath and put on an orange gown. I walked downstairs and prepared myself pasta.

I sat down to eat my food when the doorbell rang. Who must be at the door. I didn't invite anyone. I opened the door and saw one of my mom's best friend Rose. I haven't seen her for ages since the day of Julie's burial

Oh my gosh. Is that you Jay! She squealed as she crushed me into a tight hug.

I nodded and prayed she would release me real quick. She hugs very tight and I was suffocating. I quickly disengaged myself from the hug and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Look you've grown so big and you look like your mom when she was your age. You are so beautiful blah blah blah

It's getting pretty annoying. Yeah I know I look like my mom but she's acting like she hasn't seen me before.

I just nodded my head and smiled

Aww! You have a cute smile too

Here she goes again. Don't get me wrong I like compliments but when it gets too much, it annoys the shit out of me.

So!! Where's your mom? She asked me finally after complimenting my looks and all that.

She isn't at home right now. I answered truthfully.

Oh dear! When she comes back, tell her that I dropped by to see her. She said

I nodded my head as she gave me one last hug and left and I quickly closed the door. I went back to eat my food but guess what........... it's cold already all thanks to Rose. I really like her the most out of all my mom's friends but she can be super annoying when she wants to be.

I've got no choice than to microwave my food.

I left Jayden's house wondering where her mom must have gone to. I flew into the country all the way from Canada after Stella Jayden's mom called me three days ago and explained her condition.

It's so sad. How would Jayden take this news. I wept. I've seen her and her sister Julie grow up and I wouldn't want to see her hurt again not after what she passed through after the death of her sister...................

Stella has been my best friend since we were in diapers. We came to the world the same day but I was older than her with just an our. She's my sister and my advisor.

Loosing a best friend and a sister is a very sad thing.
