Sam POV
"Ouch," I yell as soon as I hit the floor. He didn't push me hard, I didn't even realize how weak I was. I feel my head smack back on the ground and I groan. Ethan curses and starts apologizing profusely, he bends down to help me up but he is tackled by a blur.
"How dare you fucking hurt her. She pours her heart out to you and you do this. I swear to god if you weren't her brother I would kill you," Jake yells in between punches. Looking at him, he might kill Ethan anyways.
I now realize there are strangers here and they are rushing to separate Jake and Ethan. It doesn't work. Jake is relentless. Ethan tries to fight back but he is no match. The women are trying to help me up and Antonio is shining his phones flashlight in my eyes.
Jakes dad steps in the middle and my dad picks up Ethan. Jake bulldozes through his dad and my dad steps away from Ethan.
"You did this to yourself son, I don't even know what to say to you," I see my dad shake his head before he makes his way over to me.
"Jake enough," I hear his dad yell. It is almost like Jake is tunneled on Ethan. He isn't hearing or seeing anyone but Ethan.
"Antonio do I have a concussion," I demand.
"No, you-"
That is all I needed to hear before I was pulling away from all the people who were fawning over me.
"Sit your ass down Sam, you are recovering. You can't do anything to stop him," my dad threatens.
"He won't hurt me," I hope. I have faith that he will stop. Just like at school. Honestly, he was punching hockey dude harder and I think that these people should consider themselves lucky that some part of Jake still recognizes Ethan as a friend. My dad tries to stop me again but I run through him and wrap my arms around Jake as he pulls his hand back to punch again. His elbow bumps me but as soon as he feels me his left hand drops Ethan shirt and he whips around and pulls me into his arms.
"Shit I am so sorry. I should have checked if you were okay, I just saw you laying there and, shit," Jake mumbles while looking me over for injuries. "Stop throwing yourself in-between my fights you crazy girl," he yells.
"You won't hurt me, and I needed you to stop. I understand why you reacted like you did, but it is enough. There are children here," I whisper. Embarrassed of the scene we caused.
"Oh honey these are Rossi kids, they have seen way worst. They probably were waiting for the guns, in my house that little boy would have been shot. My name is Angie by the way," a sweet women explains.
I offer her a smile and look back at Jake. He pulls me closer and stands up while still holding me. "I'm sorry frizz. Are you okay," he asks before kissing my head.
"You have nothing to be sorry about. Let's go clean your hands, yeah? Then we can calm down before we come back. Shit Jake," I mumble when I see his cut face. I don't understand why Ethan has to act like this.
"You should see the other guy," he jokes.
"I would laugh if he wasn't my twin. Come on," I grab his hand and we start walking to the bathroom. Then I remember our crowd. "We will be back, I am gonna clean him up. Can someone handle him while I clean him? Thanks Ben," I say as I see Ben bend down and help him up. He isn't gentle. I know he is upset with Ethan too.
"I am gonna go with Ethan, he will need some stitches. Jake will need some too on his cheek. Ethan's ring cut him good, one of my brothers will come with you," Antonio announces.
"I've got it," a tall man says. He has deep grey eyes and a cut on his face. He is handsome, I will admit. He doesn't hold a candle to Jake though. He walks up to us and doesn't remove his eyes from Jake. "My name is Angelo. I am glad we finally got to meet. Shocked you got through all of us to kill that boy but impressed," he adds with a nod.
"Sorry about catching you in the face," Jake mumbles.
"Nonsense. I knew what I was getting into when I stepped in. You went through our fathers like they were curtains. And you," he adds shifting his cold eyes to me. "What is a little girl like you who is still healing thinking to throw themselves at this beast of a man," he demands. I feel like I am being scolded.
"I am thinking that he was going to kill my twin and his best friend, and none of you we're man enough to stop him," I snap back. I may be weak but I won't be talked down to. All of the men huff out their distaste at my comment, probably because the truth hurts. Angelo stares at me for a second and then busts out laughing. When he looks back at me there's a sparkle in his eyes.
"Beautiful, brave, and smart," he chuckles.
"Don't forget underage," Ally yells out in warning.
"And taken, don't make me have to add to that scar-" Jake starts.
I silence him with a kiss to calm him down and to show Angelo that I am happily in a day old relationship.
"I promise you I have no intentions towards her. The fact that I just saw you fight, you threatened a Don, and she kissed you in front of me is enough to deter," Angelo said with a chuckle. "Let's go get you fixed up so we can eat. I am sure you are hungry," he adds.
We start to walk and I realize how weak I am. Especially after the fall, no wonder Jake has been carrying me everywhere. He picks me up and flinches. I don't know how he's able to tell what I need before I am.
"Jake put me down. You are hurt," I argue.
"Yes but I can walk fine. I can't say the same for you, and we are about to do a lot of stairs," he says through gritted teeth.
"Giacomo Ferrari put me the fuck down," I threaten.
"How did you get my full name? I swear my mother lives to embarrass me," Jake huffs. Yet he still carries me.
"She took extra time to teach me how to say it right. Now please don't hurt yourself more," I say while cupping his face.
"Look I've known the man for 10 seconds. He isn't putting you down because you can't walk and I think he'd rather get shot again than let me carry you," Angelo says without turning around.
"Yup," Jake smirks. This fucking half Italian jerk.
