SAM POV
"We let them enter the land and make it seem like we don't know they are coming. As the Russian Ken Doll and his dogs leave they will most likely attack. So we have the Russians circle around the back and we push the Vegas to them. And then we shoot," I offer. We have been arguing too long and we're running out of time. I just want to prove to my boys that I can take care of myself but I also have their back.
"How do we know we can trust the Russians though? They could be in on it," Jake argues.
If they are, the men in the back will take them out before anything happens. Plus Kyle's men are on their way. I don't announce this though because I need to make sure that the Russians think I trust them. So, if they do try something they won't expect us to respond.
"You heard the plan. Filter out. Stay alert," I tune out the rest of Ange's speech because I am so shocked he listened to me.
"If anything happens to you-" Jake starts.
"We have made it through more than most our age Jake. I can't promise to be fine but I can promise that I will be careful," I tell him before placing a kiss on his lips.
"Hmmm. So she is little Ferrari's. I never introduced myself, my name is-" the Russian Ken Doll starts again.
"I don't need your name. But I do need you to leave so this plan can workout," I tell him. I don't understand why people always openly flirt with someone in a relationship. Clearly I am unhealthily obsessed with Jake if I am willing to stay in a Mafia showdown like some wild ass movie and be the only black person in the room. Please don't let me die first.
"Feisty," he then starts yelling instructions to his men before they leave.
We check the cameras and we see them drive off our land. As soon as they are gone, the other SUVs start speeding in.
"I love you baby, but this will never happen again. I can't focus if I know you are at risk," Jake tells me as he loads his guns.
Just then we hear gun shots ring out outside of the house. It sounds like chaos on the other side of the door. Thank god the closest house is Jake's parents.
"They are pushing in. We are losing men out there," one of the men reports to Ange.
I quickly run up the stairs to our room and grab a gun. I don't know what the heck it's called but I know I am going to snipe the shit out of these people. I crawl out our window and on to the roof. I stay low and I see that our men are mostly hidden behind cars and trees while the enemy sprays bullets everywhere.
I start shooting the men one by one. I can't believe I almost turned down learning how to shoot this gun because I was lazy. When they realize someone is picking them off they start looking around for me. Just then, Ange and Jake barrel out of the house with everyone else. I can see Jake looking around and I know he's losing focus trying to find me. I see someone about to shoot him so I take them out. This seems to pull Jake back.
I start to hear cars again and get nervous that it's more men, but I recognize them. It's the Russians. In the front. Shit.
Ken Doll jumps out of his car and starts opening fire on not my family and I feel all the weight leave my shoulders. Good. They are not the enemy this time.
I resume to picking off the men one by one and it goes well, until I feel someone snatch my hair.
"You little bitch. Hiding up here. This is a mans fight," I feel spit hit my face as this disgusting and huge man lifts me by my hair. I try to fight him but he's too big.
"Found the sniper. Bonus. It's also the girl," he yells down. I didn't think anyone would hear him over the chaos but I was wrong. Jake instantly turns around and runs to the house while this disgusting man holds me at the end of the roof in front of him. Great. I proved Jake right.
"Boys. We will leave your land peacefully. But we're taking her with us to make sure we are allowed to leave safely. And, we continue to sell on your land," he yells down.
I can see that Jake is panicking but trying to keep it together. Ange just gives me the look he gives me in training. He wants me to get out of this. I widen my eyes at him. Does he not see that I am being held by the Rock. If it was Vin Diesel; I'd try. This is the fucking Rock.
Ange cocks his head to the side and I know that he's telling me I need to do something. They can't shoot because I'd fall or they'd hit me. Obviously something is stopping them from sneaking up behind. I take a deep breathe in and stand on my tip toes to relieve some of the pressure.
I try to look behind me to see where is head is. I can't head butt him. He's too tall. But I have another plan. He starts to yell something more and I quickly spin around ignoring the pain in my head. I then knee him as hard as I can in his balls and give him a pull when he bends over so he will go off the roof. I did not, however, anticipate him grabbing my ankle so I also go down with him.
"Fuck." I scream. I hear Jake and Ange yelling too as I dangle off the roof. Luckily big guy was sweaty so he slipped off. Judging by the sound he is pretty flat below me right now.
I hear gunshots go off all around me and I start hyperventilating. I'm gonna get shot while hanging from a roof. I try to pull myself up but I don't have a good enough angle. I hear some creaking and I realize the gutter I'm holding on to is not going to last much longer.
"Baby hold on. Ange is coming up. I'm below you. Sam it's too far for you to drop though. I need you to hold on," Jake begs.
"I am. But um, I don't know how much longer the roof will hold on for. Jake I want you to know that this doesn't prove you right. I handled myself like a champ," I yell down. If I'm going out, he doesn't get the satisfaction of being right.
I realize that I need to pull myself up or try to drop in a way that will let me survive. This won't hold me much longer. I start to pull myself up and then I hear a yell and feel pain spread across my shoulder. Did someone seriously just shoot a girl hanging from a roof top. Are you kidding me?
"Make sure they are all dead now. Sam-" Jake starts. I tune him out because I am now holding all my weight with one arm. I feel like a fucking spectacle.
"Shit Sam. I am sorry. There was men in the house I had to go through. I got you, shit," Ange starts as he slowly pulls me up. He gets me on the roof and quickly sits down with me in my lap while he looks over my shoulder.
"You have the worst luck," he mumbles.
