But also it's the first birthday of this book today which is why it took ages to update because I wanted to make Bakugo's birthday the birthday?? Makes sense... no but still plus 40 seems more satisfying to me then 41 or something

Bakugo's Pov
Time skip to Bakugo's birthday!

"Bakugo! Get your fat arse down here!" Perfect thing to hear as soon as I put my hearing aid in. I finish buttoning up my shirt and head down stairs to see my mother and dad sat on the sofa, gifts around them as they both sip their bitter coffee. Gross.

"What!?" I question stepping off the last step annoyed they forced me to come here the day before my birthday.

Do you know what a birthday means!?

•sleep in

•eat your cake in bed

•watch a movie

•tackle Mina and give Denki a friendly strangle.

•Get a disappointed look from Shinsou as a gift

•FaceTime parents for a minute while they sing about how I smell and look like a monkey.

And as a new addition to my very well and put together list.

•Spend time with a big goof who's teeth could probably cut leather.

Now I'm just stuck in my old house with a room full of stupid posters. I mean I only moved out recently but I'm 19 now and shit but still!! It's been a good year, posters are dumb! Unless they have Kiri on then that's alright I guess or something.

Although I may just be saying that because he gave me one from his merch store and of course I'm not throwing that away, I'm a dick but I'm... not heartless! Well I am but... question me and I'll have Denki talk to you for a hour.

"It's your birthday you brat! Open your gifts and stuff! We have a meal later with the Kirishima's so you better look good! I don't want him to realise your true ugly and break your little soft heart. I hate you crying it's all aggressive and shit." She has a smile saying I'm joking but the look in her eyes also says I'm not fucking around!

Well isn't that a nice thought for my birthday? I mean we've already gone on four dates, he would be able to see the fact in a trash person by now.

I guess this is somewhat our 5th date together, but like a whole family date.... yay? No definitely not but I can't get rid of them so it's fine or whatever.

I walk over to them while they move their coffee cups onto the table so they can pay attention to me opening gifts like I'm five again. Which I mean I wouldn't mind, would mean I would still be able to hear my mums laugh as she spun around with me in her arms as dad stands at the barbecue making sure the foods cooked perfectly while all my friends run around the garden weaving through trees, brambles eventually getting caught by the adults who are playing the game as well. Of course I would just hang out with mum though, I mean we were the cool kids then, still are! I hate her but I fucking love her, say one fucking wrong word against her and I'll stick a fishing hook through your top lip and go through your fucking nose!

I pull away the wrapping paper from each gift not really taking much care in preserving the orange paper covering it. Each gift makes me smile slightly but I quickly drop it again not to show me smiling. My mum making sure to take a photo of every single second I am breathing during this moment while dad is leaning forward basically might as well not be sat of the sofa as he watches my hands dance around each gift trying to find the best part to open it at.
