This is all written by me. MINE! The pics of landscape are mine the rest I googled.
When the female silhouette walked out from the shadows shock and fear rolled off me. It was her, the evil woman from my nightmares! With her walking towards us I...
It was the first day of my Senior year. It's the fall, September I'm in Kim's 1989 blue mustang, fox body cruising around town. Suzanne is in the passenger side singing along with Beastie Boys, "License To I'll" cassette playing through factory speakers. And singing badly, I might add. I'm in the back rolling a joint. Suzanne can't roll a joint to save her life but she can come up with some bud. Just because I'm not a ho-bag doesn't mean I'm perfect. We all deal with thing differently. Suzanne asks, "You got that rolled Ava?" She replies, "Almost hold your potatoes!" Kim giggles. Suzanne looks confused, "Potatoes?" "It sounded right." I answers as I lick the glue on the paper sealing it together. "Gotta light Kim?" I asks. "Here!" Kim replies as she passes a green bic back between the seats to me. I make a quick used of the lighter and fire up my skunky smelling roll, inhaling deep and passing it to Kim. "Ere Kem!" I try to say while holding in my hit. Kim takes her hit and passes to Suzanne. Suzanne takes a break from her bad singing and tokes a big puff and passes it back to me. Kim, Suzanne and myself, all have our own problems and reasons we smoke. We have an understanding since we've been friends since we were very little kids. Suzanne and I have been friends since we were babies. We played together and were best friends before I knew what that was. I can't remember not loving her as my sister. I met Kim in the third grade. We were in the same class and hit it off. We have been the best of friends ever since. Kim's face lights up, "I just remember I got something." As she reaches in her purse and pulls out a bottle of vodka smiling. Suzanne cheers in delight at Kim's mischief. "Whoo hoo, vodka for lunch!" Suzanne cheers. Someone has been the voice of reason so I say, "The teachers will be able to smell it on us if we drink." "I've got breath mints!" Suzanne said trying to solve our dilemma. Kim chimes in, "It's the first day we won't do anything in class anyway." Suzanne feeling the need to justify our actions further says, "It's the first day of our Sr. year and we only have one!" She new that would push me over. "Ok give me a swig but we save the rest for lunch!" I say as I reach for the bottle while Kim and Suzanne cheering and waving their arms being wild, free, and not caring about our problems if only for a few hours. We arrive at school, barely. Kim whips in the parking lot as Suzanne and I are trying to get ourselves together. We touch up our lip-gloss and brush our hair trying to hide any evidence we are, for lack of a better word, ripped. I'm so glad we will not be doing much class work today. I will sit in the back and keep my head down. I climb over the folded over passenger seat to get out. I brush the leftover weed crumbs off my tie dye shirt and bell-bottom jeans.

I know I'm not wearing the latest fashion but it's my fashion style. I'm a bit of a hippie. I always say I should have been born 20 years earlier. I wear light makeup as my straight golden hair shines in the sun I smile with a hardcore buzz. I do love my hair, my ass is too big, my lips are full, but I wish my nose was smaller. Overall I'm not bad looking I have a small waist and I'm all muscle. I play softball and swim all summer every summer. I played basketball for 2 years and that was enough for me. I was on the swim team one year but it was too much for me with softball and family reunions Granny took me to every summer at Kentucky Lake.
Suzanne always wears bright pastel colors, always standing out in the crowd. They go so well with her yellow blonde short curly hair and sun kissed skin. She is taller being 5ft7", has a diamond shaped face, small shapely lips, small nose. She thin with long lovely legs. Sometimes she doesn't match because she's color blind but I always let her know. I have taught Suzanne everything she knows about clothes, makeup and hair. Her mother had her to save there marriage. When it didn't work Suzanne was left with no one to care for her. So I do what I can. I have been and always will be whatever she needs. Suzanne has a good grandma we call "Mama Tina" but she has a lot of grandchildren and Suzanne doesn't want to bother her. Granny and I do everything we can for her. She also calls my grandmother "Granny". I couldn't love Suzanne more if she was blood related.
Kim is like Suzanne's polar opposite. Kim is short and stocky, about 5ft tall, natural tan skin, lots of curves, big boobs, and ass for days. She has curly brown hair to her shoulders. Kim's parents love her but, they would love her more if she was more like her sister or better yet been the boy her father wanted. Kim was compared to her sister Kathleen a lot, so much I was sick of hearing it. No matter what Kim did she's never good enough for them.
All of us had our own family problems. We chose to deal with those problems in the worst way, by drinking, smoking pot. We have each other to count on. We aren't losers, we make good grades, we don't skip school, we participate in school functions, go to all the games. We like to party and have fun that's all. Suzanne and I plan on going to college if we can find one to take us. Kim will not leave her family. She's a small town girl for life. Not me or Suzanne we want to get out of this small town. I think Suzanne wants to get away from her father. He's a real p.o.s. It too early in the morning to talk about that looser. Who knows what life will be like after high school but, I can't wait to find out. Kim Suzanne and I grab our purses pull our shoulders back strutting into the doors. "It's our year to rule the school!" I say and we all giggle. Suzanne chimes, "Wild and crazy cute and free we're the class of ''93." We giggle our way to our lockers and home room. It was finally the end of English IV with Mrs. Shimmers . She was a very nice lady and a good teacher. Suzanne was in my class but Kim wasn't. She took the minimum to get her diploma. Suzanne and I are taking the courses needed to get into college. Only 5 minutes before the bell rings for lunch/vodka and weed. It is the longest 5 minutes of the day. I have everything ready to walk out the door. My knee bouncing with impatience as I stare at the stupid clock on the wall that's not moving fast enough. Ring! Ring! Finally the bell rings and I run to drop off my books to meet up at Kim's car.
We spent our lunch being very bad girls, drinking, smoking. We spent our whole lunch getting ripped. We talked about who's changed the most over summer. We talked about who's cute and who isn't. "Speaking of cute, I heard we got a new history teacher and I heard he's hot!" Suzanne asks as she's the social butterfly and makes it a point to know everyone. I shrug my shoulders, I try not to gossip but, that's not easy in a small town like ours. Kim takes a puff off her Marlboro exhales saying, "My cousin, Bobby Joe, that works at city hall, said "he's so fine she would drink his bath water!" "Ouch!"I say in an outburst. "What's wrong Ava?" Kim asks with concern and confusion on her face. "I don't know I had a chest pain for a second. It hurt like a bitch. It was probably an air bubble in my lungs from all the smoking we're doing today." I say. I take a few deep breaths to clear my lungs. Suzanne, still on the subject of the new guy in town, "We will find out after lunch we have MO. Gov. (Missouri Government) next period. "He teaches that too?" I question. Suzanne nodded, "And a couple other classes. "We got to go y'all or we'll be late." I say slurred while trying to keep it together. Kim, Suzanne and I pop in our ticTac's on our way to our lockers meeting up in the hall. We all walk to the only class we have together besides home room and lunch.
When we walked in the room no one noticed us. And I was worried someone would catch us. It was, odd,..no one was talking. The teacher was writing something on the massive chalkboard at the front of the room. Everyone seemed to be entranced by what the teacher was writing. If I wasn't so weirded out I would have laughed. All three of us looked from the students to the chalkboard, nothing unusual about the assignment the teacher was writing. Totally creeped out I look for a spot we can all sit together. I find three desks in the back corner, elbowing Suzanne I gesture to the desks. She understands and follows me, Kim as well. Still no one is talking, joking around, nothing. I wonder what the heck is going on?...
What is going on? What will happen when Ava and Lachlan meet face to face? Sorry it took so long for this chapter. Thank you for reading Please comment and vote
