Lachlan looks into my eyes with sincerity and says, " Ava I'm a vampire."

Ava's POV *************

"You mean like in Dungeons and Dragons right? A lot of people play that but, I didn't see you as a D&D nerd? Oh, but, I didn't mean it like that! What ever floats your boat ya know. " Shrugging my shoulders I ramble on not knowing the appropriate response. I was revealed to hear about his nerdy side. He was too perfect. It was like he was hiding something, something big.

He's looking at me like he's troubled, why is he not happy? Continuing on with my nervous chatter, "What's wrong? Was I not understanding? I'm sorry. I'm a Virgo and tend to be brutally honest when I don't mean to be." I also talk a lot when I'm nervous and the bewildered look on his face is not helping to calm me but, I'm not saying that part out loud.

Lachlan gently place his large hands on either side of my face looking at me with a pained expression as I take a quick breath. He takes a slow deep breath as his thumbs are caressing my pink flushed cheeks. His blue eyes shining in the moonlight, he looks at me with an expression I can't read and says, "I will not harm you Angelum Meum." "Um okay." Not knowing how to reply. I was so confused. Why was he being so intense and what did that mean? (my angel in Latin) I had no idea what language he spoke. I know nothing about men and I didn't understand any of what he was saying or why.

That's when the world as I knew it changed; for better or worse, it changed and so did he!! His shiny blue eyes morphed in front of me into empty blood red orbs. His beautiful oh-so-kissable lips made room for long fangs the grew out to sharp points specifically designed for ripping flesh! Lachlan was evil, unholy, demonic! Were the initial thoughts clouding my over active brain.

"Wha tha fu?" I couldn't form complete words. I was shocked to say the least. My version of reality came crashing down around me and I felt like there was no escape. A cold wave of fear washed over me, I trembled uncontrollably. "What are you? I'm going to start going to church more" I think out-loud not realizing. " I'm a vampire Ava." I jerk, startled; not phasing him, He strokes my hair affectionately saying, " I will not harm you. You're the reason I'm here. You call to me." "Me?" I ask dumbstruck. I take a step back confused and feeling unsteady. "Oh God he's going to eat me on my birthday! I should've known today was too good to be true." I say more to myself as I talk with my hands pacing in front of a more confused looking Lachlan, I continue on. "Of course on the best birthday ever is the day I die! By vampire no less! If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all! stress bringing out my southern roots making my southern accent thick, still pacing and talking with my hands.

Lachlan grabs me by my shoulders holding my arms at my side and looks into my eyes saying, "Ava, I will not hurt you, I'm not going to kill you on your birthday. I told you this to get to know you without lies between us. I told you because I want to be with you in every aspect of the word. I came to you tonight because I can't stay away from you anymore! Your smell is making me crazy with want for you! I will not wait any longer! You are old enough!" Lachlan said as a command. I flinch feeling the power in his words. He saw me flinch and his eyes soften reverting back to his deep blue eyes shinning in the moon light once again. Frozen in confusion and fear my mind churning. This is too much! "Please speak to me Ava, please!" Lachaln pleads.

I look into his pleading eyes and I can't bring myself to hurt him so I reply, "I-I need time to think." I say softly. Lachlan brushes his thumb over my lip once more before saying " Whatever you need Angelum Meum. I have waited this long I can wait a little longer." He grabs my chin making me look at him saying, "I will ease any of your worries if I can, I will give you time if that's what you need, but I will have you Soon! " I swallow all the spit in my mouth hard and nod not knowing what to say. "It's been an exciting day." he says as he leans down kissing my head tenderly.
