One Week Later
Ava's POV ************
It's sucky Monday again and I'm getting ready for school. I decided to wear jeans, Led Zeppelin t-shirt and, some converse shoes for me today. Comfort is important to me. I brushed out my tangles, parted my hair to the side and hair sprayed it in place to keep the frizz down. Missouri humidity is no joke on my hair. My face is going makeup free because I have no one to impress. I'm not ugly but no one asks me out and I'm fine with that.

Ava's clothes ^^^^^^^^^^^
I should be happy to see my friends after not being sociable over the weekend but, I'm not. I really hate school. Don't get me wrong I like to learn but, I hate people. Everyone lies to me, steels from me, hates on me, or uses me. I'm not easy to love. I don't know why you would have to ask my parents. They know better than anyone. I have my Granny and she's the best Granny ever! Kim and Suzanne are my only friends and I'm ok with that. I do go to all the football and basketball games but there weren't any so I stayed home this weekend doing homework and, playing cards with Granny.
We play poker for different things like cookies, candy, matches or, change. Granny has taught me how to play a lot of different card games like rummy, solitaire, but we also play poker, Tonk, Black Jack, among many others. I've gambled for money since I was 7 against adults. I have been playing for so long I can't remember when I started. I remember Granny setting up a box and stuffing the cards in because my hands were too little to hold the cards. Granny has taught me many different games but we mostly play poker. I'm quite good at 5 card draw but, Granny is better. She used to let me win sometimes when I was little but, not in a few years. Granny says I'm going to be a "card shark" when she's through with me; whatever that means. This weekend we played 7 card no peak with 1 eyed jacks wild. She let me drink a Bourbon and Coke. It was only aloud 1 but that still classifies my Granny as cool! She's the coolest Granny in the world really. When Suzanne and Kim can get away from their crappy home lives we all have fun with Granny. She says as long as we drink at home we can drink. She says "she knows we will drink anyway we might as well do it safe." She's not wrong either. We have bon-fires out at the river all the time and get sloppy drunk. But not last weekend. I won a few hands then Granny cleaned me out, she won all my matches. You win some you lose some. I will get her next time.
