Chapter 19: Demon Rabbit

Suddenly, Yukio showed up and shot the black mist, freeing Cheng. Usamaro dodged each bullet and attempted to attack Yukio, but Cheng's assistants guarded him and got knocked out. Usamaro hurriedly leaped of the wall with Yukio following him, but as he crossed the road, a vehicle got in the way. Having lost sight of his target, Yukio looked around and noticed demons all over the place.

"What's going on in HQ? We need backup now! " An exorcist exclaimed.

"He's doing this, I should've known. " Yukio muttered. Meanwhile, Rin and Cheng were carrying his assistants. You walked alongside Rin as you turned towards Yukio.

"What is that rabbit, what's going on? " Yukio asked with a serious look. Cheng looked at him.

"He's a demon from the clan of time, the one my ancestor sealed long ago. He manipulates time and feeds on people's memories. Once you let him in, he takes advantage of your desires and then, he destroys your soul. My ancestor allowed the demon to live among the people of the village and because he didn't act quickly, the village died out. Eventually, the village and shrine where he was sealed were forgotten, and the story faded into legend. We have to find that demon, or else this city will die out too. " Cheng said as you were all gathered in HQ. Around the city, all the exorcists were trying to keep the demons at bay. But the city was practically overrun by them. Everybody began to look around for Usamaro, searching for any possible sign of him. You searched with Rin, as you both ran towards Yukio.

"Anything? " Rin asked.

"Still waiting to hear back. " Yukio replied. His phone rang.

"Okumura here. What's happening in the West end of the city?" Yukio answered. You looked over to the stairs that led to the train station, as you noticed some unconscious people on the ground. You nudged Rin, and pointed over there. He gasped, as he took your hand and ran.

"Alright, I understand. We're on our way. " Yukio said before hanging up.

"Let's move-" He gasped as saw that you both had left and the two exorcists that were unconscious.

*Meanwhile With Usamaro *

The demon rabbit was running on the traintracks.

Why? I made them forget about the bad stuff. I made them happy, so why?

Usamaro looked around, seeing all the villagers stare at him.

"No! I swear, this is all a mistake! " He cried, as the exorcist slammed his staff.

"You're wrong... You're all wrong! You're wrong... " Usamaro cried. Everything faded to black.

"Come on wake up! Hey! You're okay now, can you hear me! " Rin exclaimed.

"Are you alright? Please, wake up!" You said worriedly. He opened his eyes slightly.

"You're... All... Wrong... "

Usamaro stopped, as tears ran down his face.
