Chapter 20: The Battle (Part 1)

You and Rin slowly walked towards him.  Usamaro looked at you two.

"Rin... (Y/N)... " He muttered.

*Meanwhile With Yukio *

Yukio and Cheng were at the train station, looking for Usamaro.

"The rabbit could of gone either way. " Yukio said. Cheng jumped down, standing on the traintracks beside Yukio.

"Maybe we should split up. " Yukio suggested. The ground began to shake all of sudden. 

"What's that?! " He exclaimed.

"I can sense him, down there." Cheng said with a serious look.

*Back To You *

Everything began to shake, as the ground beneath you gave out. Rin quickly grabbed you, as you all fell. You both screamed. As Rin held you, debris continued to fall down. He fell onto his back after losing his balance.

"Owww!" He exclaimed while holding onto his head.

"Rin, are you alright?" You said worriedly. He nodded. You both then noticed your new surroundings.

"What the hell is this place? " Rin said.

"I don't know. " You replied. You looked back up towards the hole you fell through, as you saw Yukio and Cheng.

"Rin-" Yukio got cut off by Cheng.

"Wait. Look there. " Cheng said while looking down. Yukio looked over the the direction Cheng motioned to, as he saw the phantom train. The monster's piercing red eyes scanned the area, as they landed on you. It leaped from where it was, onto where you and Rin stood. Cheng jumped down from where he was and attacked the demon.

"Don't let that rabbit out of your sight! " He shouted as he leaped onto the demon's back. He lodged his staff into the demon as he began to chant. After each chant, it caused damage to the demon. Being hurt, it continuously crashed into everything. Cheng continued with his chants. Rin and you watched in amazement as you then turned back to Usamaro. He quickly pulled back.

"I hate all exorcists, even if it's you two!" Usamaro growled.

"Okay fine. But what's the point of eating memories? " Rin questioned. You looked over to Usamaro, waiting to hear his response.

"To help people forget the bad things and make them happy! I make them happy, that's why! " Usamaro snarled.

"But it doesn't work, there's always someone who remembers. " Rin said while looking at him.

"Then I'll just eat that person's memories too!"

"And all the people in the city, what? You gonna eat theirs too? " Rin said bluntly.

"I'm gonna eat every memory in this city, in this country. I'm gonna eat and eat and eat till they're all gone! And when I'm done, everyone can finally be happy!" Usamaro shouted.

"And then you're gonna eat our memories too, right? " Rin questioned. Usamaro seemed reluctant for a moment after hearing that. He hissed harshly as Yukio ran over.

"Get back Rin! You're both wasting your time reasoning with that demon! " Yukio said sternly as he pointed his gun at Usamaro.

"Hold up Yukio. Usamaro, I-" Rin got cut off as he noticed the demon heading towards you. It banged it's head into the platform you were both on,  causing it to crumble. The giant statue head split in the middle, separating Usamaro from you. Yukio quickly leaped onto Usamaro's side.

"Yukio! " Rin shouted. He looked at you.

"Hurry, get over there! " Rin said as he shoved you onto the other side.

"No wait, but what about you? " You shouted. Rin smirked. He had a feeling he'd be all right.

"It doesn't matter! Just go! " He shouted. After you were over with Yukio, you watched as the piece Rin was on, begin to fall.

"Rin! " You shouted. You saw that he was hanging onto a railing. You tried to stop Yukio from shooting Usamaro, but he was too stubborn.

"Yukio! Stop! " You exclaimed.

"Stop shooting at him! " Rin shouted. As he attempted to run over to you, the demon came crashing down. As it landed, it shook the traintracks. Cheng continued with his chants, while some how managing to hold on tight, not letting the demon's roughhousing knock him off. The demon fell into the water down below, as it made it's way up, it injured Cheng in the process. It began to climb the beams that held up the tracks.  Yukio continued shooting at Usamaro. You looked over to Rin worriedly, hearing a loud crumbling noise. The tracks Rin was on, were collapsing. He quickly ran towards you, as he began falling. He managed to grab onto the demon's back as it made it's way upward. Yukio shot at it, while keeping you behind him. The demon then began trying to attack Usamaro. Yukio and you were thrown onto it's back. He was able to grab on, as he saw you still in the air, not being able to hold on.

"(Y/N)!!"
