Hatchlings

As soon as I heard those words, I jumped up, put on some shoes, ran out the door, and tossed myself into my car. I tried to hurry, but also had to obey speed limits, and I worried that I wouldn't be there in time.

Timeskip

I drove up to the mansion, hitting the brakes and running out of the car.

I hope I'm not too late! I thought as I barged through the door. Iris heard me and came to see what happened.

Iris- Is something wrong?

(Y/n)- No, the eggs in the lab are finally hatching and I need to be there to see them!

Scrambling past Iris I got to the elevator and hit the numbers as fast as I could. It opened and took me down to the hallway, with all of its cells and walkways. Taking a left, I reached the lab where the eggs were sitting in an open incubator, with one or two cracks each, not enough for anything to be seen.

(Y/n)- Thank God, I'm here in time!

Eli- Yes, one of the guards alerted us and we called you as we made our way down here.

Wu- It's good that you're here, the imprinting process is one of the most important parts of bonding.

(Y/n)- Ok, now all we do is wait.

Subject 2 Pov

As I finally had enough strength to break out of this egg, I made my first crack and immediately felt warm air flood into my shell. It was like when I was still gaining strength, but this time I could smell it, and I smelt something weird. I had no idea what it was, but there were a few different smells in the air.

Subject 1 Pov

I heard another egg crack next to me and knew it was time to break out of this shell, so I followed suit and made a crack. Warm air touched my nose and I was fascinated with all of the new scents I picked up. I couldn't figure out what they were, I guess I'll just have to see.

(Y/n) Pov

I was fascinated with the two large eggs in front of me. How could a few people create creatures that haven't been seen for 65 million years, and even then, breed their own selectively?

It was then that more cracks appeared, increasing in size everytime the creatures moved.

Subject 2 Pov

Come on, come on, just a few more pushes, I'm almost out of here! I have to get out, I'm so hungry and curious, I need to get out of here!

Subject 1 Pov

I could hear the other dinosaur struggling to get out. What a weakling. Only the strong survive in nature, and it would surely be killed. I needed out of here though. If I'm to survive, I can't sit in an egg forever.

(Y/n) Pov

They were almost out. Just one more push and I would see them.

Wu- Eli, we should get out of the way so that (y/n) can bond with the dinosaurs.

The left egg finally broke its shell open, and what I saw amazed me.

A pure, red eye, with a black body and a yellow stripe going down its side. Its teeth were disorderly, and its hand was big, with long claws that were razor sharp.

He saw me and just stared, his piercing gaze focused entirely on me. I couldn't move or speak, I was transfixed on him. I was snapped out of the trance when the right egg broke open too. It looked the same, but with darker skin and a more golden stripe. Both of them focused on me, when Wu suddenly cut in.

Wu- It's incredible. It bonded with (y/n). This is fantastic.

Subject 1 Pov

I broke out of my shell before the other one and saw a creature. It looked nothing like me, so it wasn't my parent, but it seemed to like me, and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It was just too weird.

Subject 2 Pov

When I finally broke free, I was immediately greeted with a strange face. The creature didn't look at all like me, it had a more flat face, with pinker, lighter skin and no claws. It had (e/c) eyes and (h/c) hair and was focused on me. I felt safe once my eyes adjusted to it, and I wanted to stay with this feeling.

(Y/n) Pov

I noticed a subtle difference in the creatures' stares, with the left one being focused and the right being caring.

Wu- We need to get these two to containment cells, now.
