Obsidian (Male Indoraptor X Reader Caretaker)

Setting Up

(This is (y/n)'s story now, no other pov's besides Ripper and Obsidian.)

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off, remembering that I had my phone in my pocket. I opened my eyes and jumped when I saw Ripper and Obsidian both in front of me, staring me down.

(Y/n)- Jesus, good morning you two.

They seemed concerned at my reaction and huddled up next to me at the best of their ability.

(Y/n)- It's okay, you two. I'm just not used to both of you staring at me when I wake up.

Phew, I thought I had given him a heart attack. In hindsight, a giant black predator staring someone down when they wake up is kind of scary, I guess. But now they're awake, so they can feed us!

(Y/n)- I'd better go make breakfast and- Oh no, I don't have anything for you two to eat, I didn't think of that!

(Y/n) suddenly jumped up and ran inside their house, us watching from outside the windows. "Hi, yes, can I have you guys pick up some meat from the mansion? I forgot I have these two with me now."

Claire- Alright, I'll take the truck over and drive some to you.

(Y/n)- Thanks, see you.

I hung yp and was about to go ouytside when I saw both of them staring at me through the windows.

(Y/n)- You guys are needy, aren't you?

Walking back outside I was immediatley hugged by Ripper, then Obsidian when he was done.

(Y/n)- Ok you two, behave for a bit, I need to cook something for me to eat.

Stepping inside the house again, I grabbed some sausage and eggs and began cooking them. Ripper and Obsidian noticed, both staring at the frying pan now, not me. I yelled from the other room, "Hey. Stay away from those, yours is coming soon." and got up to put the food on a plate.

After I ate, Claire arrived with the truck and parked it out back, where I dumped it into the container that I had built a while ago for Obsidian when he stayed with me. As she left, I noticed Obsidian glaring at her, but Ripper was too preoccupied with the food to care.

(Y/n)- Alright, let's get you fed.

I grabbed some for each of them, easy because it was in bags, and they dug in, almost immediately eating all of it.

Now that I have food, I might as well go explore my surroundings. I've never been free before, this is nice. Being able to run where you want, when you want is exhilarating. And- Oh, Obsidian has an idea?

Ripper- What is it?

Obsidian- I was thinking we could watch my favorite movie, since you've never seen it.

Ripper- A... movie? What's that?

Obsidian- It's like a box that shows a video of people and other things, and there's tons of them. I found one about other dinosaurs, and it's my favorite.

Ripper- A magic box, you say? Well, it can't hurt to check it out.

When Ripper agreed to watch it, I was jumping up and down! I get to watch a movie with my new friend! If (y/n) trusts him, I trust him, and I might as well be friendly.

While I was thinking of way to bouse the two Indos, I felt a bump behind me and turned around to see Obsidian, looking at me expectantly.

(Y/n)- What is it?

He went up to the window and pointed at the TV, and then pretended to make a triumphant roar.

(Y/n)- Oh, you want to watch Jurassic Park again, huh? Well let me get it started for you.

Again walking inside I turned in Netflix and started Jurassic Park. Ripper watched with interest, and Obsidian, he was absolutely infatuated.

When the movie was over, it was around five pm, so I started making dinner. I grabbed some steak and came outside, starting up the grill and putting the steak on. Once it was cooked, I let Obsidian and Ripper have some, which they loved. But, they needed their own food, so grabbing another bag, I fed them too.

(Y/n)- Alright guys, it's 8 pm, I'm gonna go inside to sleep, good night.

I had almost walked inside when I was suddenly stopped by a claw grabbing the back of my shirt.

But, what if there's another dinosaur? What if it breaks in and I'm not there to protect him? No, better to keep him safe with me and Obsidian. Now that the other dinosaurs are loose, they're sure to come around here, I've got to be aware.

Ripper's keeping him with us, I won't complain. He should get to do what he wants, but I also want him to be with us.

(Y/n)- Ripper, let go, I need to got to sleep.

He growled and pulled me back to him, picking me up and walking me over to the tree I slept on last night.

(Y/n)- You want me to sleep with you? Fine, but only tonight, I really need to sleep in my bed, Ripper.

He curled up around me, Obsidian mirroring him and wrapping around my othwr side, both watching the forest.

(Y/n)- Are you trying to protect me? Don't worry, none of those dinosaurs will come around here, we're fine.

Ripper looked at me and tilted his head, questioning why I thought that.

Obsidian was watching one spot with intent, growling ever so often and getting no reply.

(Y/n)- Obsidian, come here, let me see you.

He turned his head and signaled Ripper to keep watch, while he laid his head down and let me pet him, the spines on his head shuddering with every touch. After a bit of this, I felt asleep.
