The Experiment- Day Two

Eli Pov

Now that (y/n) is stuck at home, we've had to get more workers to take care of the asset. Dr. Wu told me that, because of the tensions between them, the possibility that it could kill (y/n) was keeping it sane. Now that that is no longer true, it had become ten times as agressive. One worker has already lost and entire arm to that monster.

This is perfect.

The asset will need to be agressive to be an effective weapon on the battlefield, but it will need to obey commands. I need to have another discussion with (y/n) about making the asset more receptive.

(Y/n) Pov

I was woken up at 6 am by Obsidian wanting to go outside, so I turned off the inside recognition for his collar and let him out. He would still get shocked by the outside border if he tried to leave.

While he was outside, I got a call from Eli.

(Y/n)- Eli? What is it? Did something happen?

Eli- No, I just wanted to ask a few questions about my asset.

(Y/n)- Ripper? What about him? Don't tell me he killed someone.

Eli- Nearly. Someone already has an entire arm torn off because of it. Henry theorized that it's become more agressive because you left.

(Y/n)- Why? He always hated me and Obsidian. He should be glad we're gone.

Eli- It seems your presence gave him hope that he could kill you, and that seems to be why he was biding his time.

Eli- Anyways, I need to know what you did to get your asset to obey you.

(Y/n)- It's extremely complicated. For one, I can't completely control Obsidian. I'm sure you've heard that he tackled Maise?

Eli- Yes, that poor girl.

(Y/n)- All part of his predatory nature. Secondly, I was the one that Obsisian imprinted on, but I was just another person to him until Ripper nearly killed him.

Eli- I remember that vividly. How is your asset by the way?

(Y/n)- Fine, he's outside right now, but the border should keep him in. Plus I told him not to leave so we'll see about that.

Eli- Good. How did the attack affect him exactly?

(Y/n)- Ripper is the only other Indoraptor in existence aside from him, so me being the only one he could at least know was very stressful. He woke up in the night and escaped into the hallway, and after I chased him down, he thought I was leading him into a trap or something. I got mauled because of it.

Eli- This really sounds like he should hate you right now. I'm confused.

(Y/n)- I'm getting to it. After a fully healed, the first thing I did was come and see him, and tell him I had forgiven him.

Eli- And that moment of trust gave you the bond you have now?

(Y/n)- It was certainly the thing that kicked it off. More time together and lots of mutual love made it even stronger. The reason he attacked Maise is still a mystery to me. I think she scared him when she screamed and his instincts kicked in. Once I got to him though he settled down. He even displayed guilt for what he did.

Eli- I knew they would be intelligent, but to this level is astounding. They're basically humans.

(Y/n)- Obsidian is different though. I can't read Ripper's thoughts to see what makes him tick, but if you want trust you're going to need to stop hurting him, at least when you're around him.
