Chapter 5

"So you think it could be just a normal guy in there?"

Tubbo and George made sure to talk a distance away from the mysterious container

"Dude, I have no idea, but as can't keep him in there and he seems pretty civil.",
George mumbled.

Both boys had been talking about what to do for a while, nobody has shown up yet other then Sapnap, asking how everything was. In the heat of the moment, they both sealed their lips about the container, but George regretted lying to him.

George stepped forward, plyers in hand, ready to snap off the lock, and even after 10mins of effort;

The lock wouldn't budge.

George slumped down onto the floor,
" They make it look easy in films."

Tubbo couldn't help but laugh at this.

"Did you really think it'd be that easy to snap metal?"

After a moment of silence, a gentle male voice spoke up.

"Don't you guys have keys?"

"Well, Eret does.",
Tubbo sighed
"If we ask for them, he'll ask why."

George stood up abruptly.

"Tubbo, why the hell are we keeping this a secret? We should tell the others anyway."

Tubbo didn't make eye contact why George, he just let his eyes focus on the grime and dust on the ground.

"I don't want them to take him away, George."

"You don't even know who that guy is yet."

"But I want to know!"

They argued back and forth until George finally gave in.

"Alright Tubbo, but you need to figure out how to get him out. Also, we have other things to do right now, like running tests on the subjects. Didn't you want to see subject 439?"

Tubbo nodded,
"Tommy."

George cringed a bit then began walking towards the doorway to container 1.

"You coming Tubs?"

Tubbo placed his hand on the mysterious metal crate.
"We'll come to get you soon alright buddy?"

"Okay"

After Tubbos goodbyes, they began walking towards Subject 439's container. Inside through the soundless glass, was a boy, sitting cross-legged on the ground. His gentle eyes glanced up as he stared in awe at the two PC squad members. He proceeded to get up and walk to the glass, his lips were moving but not a noise came out on there end.

Tubbo raced towards the containment door.
"I'm going in!"

George just sighed and followed with a simple,
"Be careful"
In a matter of seconds, Tubbo stepped in with the boy.

The boy's eyes were anxious and weary, but he looked like a frightened child.

"You aren't here to hurt me, right?"
The boy's words were soft and careful,
"My name is Tommy, and I have no idea what the fuck is going on."

The vulgar language coming from such an innocent tongue almost shocked Tubbo. Tubbo also realised that this kid probably has no idea what he is. That was kind of wholesome.

"Uh well, my name is Tubbo~"

The boy cut Tubbo off.

"Tubbo? Tubbo who? Is Tubbo even a name?"

"Well, who calls their son Tommy anyway- also for your information, it's rude to make fun of peoples names.",
Tubbo stuck his tongue out.

"Well didn't you just make fun of my own name?",
Tommy scoffed

Tubbo suddenly realised the flaw in his logic. He also just noticed how childish he was acting to a victim. This boy is easy to talk to.

"Well, ~ i-it doesn't matter anyway."
Tubbo spat out quickly.

"So- 'Tubbo', are you one of my kidnappers, you seem pretty young and innocent to be a kidnapper."
Tommy said bluntly

"That sure is hypocritical coming from someone who looks like a child"

"You didn't answer the question."
Tommy looked serious now, a sudden wave of a reminder of Tommy's potential strength sudden filled Tubbo's head. Tubbo became slightly afraid.

"No no, we aren't kidnappers!", Tubbo's hand pointed at George, who stared from the other side of the glass, worried expression printed on his face.

"Sorry 'Tubbo' but that's hard to believe coming from someone who has a keycard into my cage."

Tubbo sighed, he has to come clean.

"Tommy, listen, you're here for a reason-"
Tubbo hesitated
"But for now all I can say is that I just wanna be friends!"

Tommy looked sceptical.

Tubbo cursed himself for not being straight with Tommy, but he wanted Tommy to feel normal.

Just for a little longer.
