((sorry for making you guys wait! The plot was originally going to be a harem kind of thing, but I ship sollux with someone else now!))

The next morning Prince Sollux awoke, not to an alarm clock, but to the sunlight through the window. Blearily, he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and proceeded to wake up Aoki and Karkat. Aoki smiled apon his improvised wake up call, being kissed awake. "Good morning, your highness, and 4-."
"Karkat. But I call him kk. Also don't call me that, anymore. Anyway what's up with that blue tattoo on your neck?"
Aoki was extremely confused to say the least. "What tattoo?"
Sollux decided he wouldn't push the issue. He and Karkat got Aoki back up to speed, but the mutantblood looked nervous. He pulled the former prince aside, and his tone became more serious than before, almost frightened. He spoke in Alternian.
"Sollux, the human isn't who you think they are."
"What do you mean?"
"A prophecy said that eight human mages will appear in a time of darkness."
Sollux scoffed. "He's no mage, if he was, things between us would be very different."
Karkat rolled his eyes "First off, don't you think that symbol is a bit strange?"
Sollux thought for a moment. He knew he'd seen it somewhere before, before he realized it. "The heir of breath."
"And how, praytell, will he react when he finds out that you kept him as a pet?"
"I'm not sure..."
On the other side of the bed aoki was trying to find a way into the conversation. "Hey what are you guys talking about? Let me in on it!"
Karkat, whose back was turned to him, said, in english, "not now, Egbert." Before switching to Alternian and proceeding to rant.
"Um...kk?" Sollux interrupted.
"What?!" He snapped.
With eyes wide in fear, he pointed to the human, who was now levitating on a mini-tornado, his eyes glowing cyan. Karkat let out a yelp and clung to sollux in terror. The human, lowered himself down and dispelled the whirlwind.
"I...remember now. My name is John. John Egbert." He looked at the two trolls who were trembling in fear. He smiled, a kind, goofy grin and said, "Thank you, Sollux. I don't think another person would have taken as good of care of me."
"So...you aren't going to hurt us?" The former prince cautiously inquired.
John let out hearty chortle. "And what reason would I have to do that?" Karkat, upon realizing the lack of danger, un-clung himself from Sollux.
"So, you have fancy wind powers. Whoopti-friggin-do-"
The upcoming rant, was abruptly cut short by the clear sound of a sniper shot through the window.
"We need to leave the castle, now!" Sollux growled, greatful that the bullet had merely grazed his arm. Karkat nodded. "Right." They gathered everything they could without being in view of the sniper.
Sollux used his psionics to shield them, and they snuck to the nearest and safest window. An explosion rang from the opposite side of the hive, and Mituna's voice rang out. Throughout the hive, via intercom.
"Remember what you said last time we talked?!" The new emperor's voice was different, derranged.
They new it was now or never. The three of them jumped out the window, before another explosion abruptly rattled the building. There they were, skydiving  in freefall without a parachute. Because nobility just had to live in floating mansions.
